M~EAS, it is the intentic~ of the City of Sancho O,k--aw'xKJa to
comstruct certain improvements in the City of Ran~ho O~amonga.
WHEREAS, the City of Rancho O~monga b~ prepared plans and
specificaticrs for the construction of certain improveaents.
NOW, IHEREFeRE, BE IT RESOLVED that the plans and specificaticsls
presented by the City of Rand~ ox'amr,nz/a be and are hereby' ~ as the
plans and specifications for "Sierra Madre Street Im/3rc~ement Project, located
from Ninth Street to Chaffey Street Alley."
BE IT FURITD~ RESOLVED that the City Clerk is hereby authorized and
directed to advertise as re~,~ed by law for the receipt of sealed bids or
proposals for doing the work specified in the aforesaid plans ard
specificaticrs, which said advertisement shall be substantially in the
following wok-ds and figures, to wit:
Pursuant to a Resolutic~ of the Council of the City of Rancho
HEREBY GIVEN that the said City of Rancho Ow~.m~rja will receive at the Offioe
of the City Clerk in the offices of the City of Rancho OY'~,,~3a, c~ or before
the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.M. on the 1st day of ~h~ 1992, sealed bids or
proposals for the "Sierra Madre Street ~nt Project, located frcm Ninth
Street to Chaffey Street Alleya' in said City.
A prebid meeting is scheduled for 10: 00 AM, November 19, 1992, at
10500 Civic Center Drive, Engir-J_ring Division. ~ meeting is to inform
DBEs of subcontracting and material supply oppc~ Lunities. Bidder's attendance
at this meetir~ is a prerequisite for demcrstrating reasorable effcrt to
obtain DBE participation.

PREV~n.~ WAGE: Notice is hereby given that in accordance with the
provisics~s of California T~'l'x'-" COde, Division 2, Part 7, (haptar 1, Article 1
and 2, the Contractor is re~ed to pay not less than the general prevailinq
rate of per dien wagee for work of a similar character in the locality in

which the public wurk is performed, and not less than the general prevailing
rats of per dien wages for holiday and overtime w~rk. In that regard, the
Director of the Department of Industrial Relations of the Stats of California
is required to and has determined such general prevailing rates of per diem
wages. Copies of such prevailing rates of per diem wacjes are cn file in the
office of the City Clerk of the City of Rancho O~Tanvxr/a, 10500 Civic Center
Drive, upper level, Rancho Cucamonga, California, and are available to any
of such determinations to be posted at the job sits.
~he Contractor shall fokTeit, as penalty to the City of Rancho
O~mc~ga, twenty-five dollars ($25.00) for each lab3rer, workman, or mechanic
or mechanic is paid less than the general prevailing rats of wages

In accordance with the provisions of Section 1777.5 of the Labor Code
as amended by Chapter 971, Statutes of 1939, and in accordance with the
regulaticr~ of the California Apprenticeship Council, properly indentured
apprentices may be employed in the prosecution of the wo~-k.
Attention is a{~wced to the provisions in Sections 1777.5 and 1777.6
of the Labor Code ooncernir~ the employment of apprentioes by the COntractor

Section 1777.5, as amer~____~J~_, requires the Ckmltractor or mxbcra,t~-actor

of approval. ~he certificats will also fix the ratio of apprenti~ to
journeymen that will be used in the performance of the contract. Ihe ratio of

State of California having to do with wurking hours as set forth in Divisiun
2, Part 7, Chapter 1, Article 3 of the T~hcr Code of the State of California

If the City of Rancho Cucamonga awards the contract to the next lowest
bidder, the amount of the lowest bidder's security shall he applied by the
City of Rancho Cucamorr3a to the differenc~ between the low bid and the seoor~
lowest bid, and the surplus, if any, shall he returned to the lowest bidder.
The amount of the bond to he given to secure a faithful performance of
the c~ntract for said w~rk shall he one hundred percent (100%) of the contract
price thereof, and an additicr~l bond in an atomrot equal to fifty percent
(50%) of the ccrfcract price for said w~rk shall be given to secure the payment
of claims for any materials or supplies furnished for the performance of the

dune there3n, and the Contractur will also be required to furnish a
certificate that he carries ~tion insurance covering his employees upon
w~rk to be done under contract which may be entered into between b~m arr] the
said City of Rancho Cucamonga f~r the ccrstruction of said work.
No prupc~al will be considered fr~n a Cuntractar where a proposal form
has not been issued by the City of Rancho Cucamonga.
Contractor shall possess a Class "A" License (General ~gineering
CUntractcr) in accordance with the provisions of the Contractor's License Law
(California Business and Professiors Code, Section 7000 et. seq.) and rules
and regulations adopted pursuant thereto at the time this contract is awarded.
~he work is to be done in accordance with the profiles, plans, and
specifications of the City of Rancho Cucamonga on file in the Office of the
City Clerk at 10500 Civic Center Drive, Pancho Ok-~monga, California. Copies
of the plans and specificatiuns, available at the office of the City Engineer,
will be furnished upon application to the City of Rancho O~ramonga and payment
of $35.00, said $35.00 is no~refu~able.
Upon written request by the bidder, copies of the plans and
specifications will be mailed when said request is acc~panied by payment
stipulated above, together with an additicr~l nc~re~le payment of
$25.00 to cover the cost of mailing ~harges and overhead.
The successful bidder will be required to enter into a contract
satisfactary to the City of Rancho C~.
In accordance with the requ/re~er~s of Section 902 of the General
Provisions, as set forth in the Plans and Specifications ~ the w~rk
Contractor's request and at the Contractor's sole cost and expense, substitute
authorized securities in lieu of mce~ies withheld (perfu~,,ence retention).
Ihe City of Rancho C~lcamonga, California, reserves the right to reject
any and all bids.
