A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
RANCHO CUCAMONGA FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT,COUNTY
OF SAN BERNARDINO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, APPROVING
RESOLUTION FD 15-024 AUTHORIZING THE DISTRICT TO
ENTER INTO THE AGREEMENT FOR TEMPORARY TRANSFER
OF VEHICULAR EQUIPMENT — TYPE III ENGINE WITH THE
STATE OF CALIFORNIA OFFICE OF EMERGENCY SERVICES
WHEREAS, the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District(RCFPD) is a public agency
located in the County of San Bernardino, State of California; and
WHEREAS, in 1970, the California Emergency Services Act created the Office of
Emergency Services, retaining the office in the Office of the Governor; and
WHEREAS, the Governor's Office of Emergency Services Fire and Rescue Branch is
responsible for the development, implementation and coordination of the California Fire Service and
Rescue Mutual Aid Plan, and
WHEREAS, the continued success of California's unique and highly effective Fire and
Mutual Aid System demands cooperation by all who use and support it; and
WHEREAS, mutual aid extended under this agreement shall be available and furnished in
all cases of"local emergency', "state emergency' and "state of war emergency" as defined in the
Emergency Services Act, and
WHEREAS, the Office of Emergency Services maintains a fleet of 150 fire engines
assigned to local jurisdictions throughout the State under written agreement; and
WHEREAS, the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District strives to provide the highest
level of public safety services either locally, regionally or statewide to assist those individuals in need
of such services during natural or man-made disasters, and
WHEREAS, the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District has received an offer from the
California Office of Emergency Services to serve as an assignee of one Type III State fire engine
with radios and equipment; and
WHEREAS, each local agency receiving a State fire engine and equipment is required to
enter into an agreement for the use of these firefighting resources,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the conditions set forth in this Resolution, as
stated above, takes effect upon adoption by the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District.
