A RESOLUTION OF THE RANCHO CUCAMONGA PLANNING COMMISSION
APPROVING USE DETERMINATION 88-03 REQUESTING THAT RETIREMENT
HOUSING FACILITIES BE A CONDITIONALLY PERMITTED USE WITHIN THE
OFFICE DESIGNATION OF THE FOOTHILL BOULEVARD SPECIFIC PLAN
(SUBAREA 1)
A. Recitals.
(i ) San Antonio Hospital has filed an application for the issuance
of a Use Determination No. 88-03 as described in the title of this
Resolution. Hereinafter in this Resolution, the subject Use Determination is
referred to as "the application".
(ii ) On the 12th of October, 1988, the Planning Commission of the
City of Rancho Cucamonga conducted a public hearing on the application and
concluded said hearing on that date.
(iii ) All legal prerequisites to the adoption of this Resolution
have occurred.
B. Resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby found, determined and resolved by the
Planning Commission of the City of Rancho Cucamonga as follows:
1. This Commission hereby specifically finds that all of the facts
set forth in the Recitals, Part A, of this Resolution are true and correct.
2. Based upon substantial evidence presented to this Commission
during the above-referenced public hearing on October 12, 1988, including
written and oral staff reports, together with public testimony, this
Commission hereby specifically finds as follows:
(a) The application applies to property located at the
northeast corner of Foothill Boulevard and Grove Avenue and is presently
improved with a single family residence and strawberry fields; and
(b) The property to the north and east of the site is
designated for residential uses and is developed with single family residences
and a golf course. The property to the south and west is designated for
commercial uses and is developed with a gas station and a shopping center; and
(c) The retirement housing facility is similar to a
convalescent facility which is a conditionally permitted within the Foothill
Boulevard Specific Plan; and
(d) The retirement housing facility is consistent with the
objectives of the Office Land Use Designation of Foothill Boulevard Specific
Plan and the General Plan.

3. Based upon the substantial evidence presented to this Commission
during the above-referenced public hearing and upon the specific findings of
facts set forth in paragraph 1 and 2 above, this Commission hereby finds and
concludes as follows:
(a) The use in question is of a similar intensity to other
permitted or conditionally permitted uses in the same District; and
(b) The use in question meets the purpose and intent of the
District in which it is proposed; and
(c) The use in question meets and conforms to the applicable
goals and objectives of the General Plan.
4. Based upon the findings and conclusions set forth in paragraph
1, 2 and 3 above, this Commission hereby approves the application.
5. The Deputy Secretary to this Commission shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED THIS 12TH DAY OF OCTOBER, 1988.

I, Brad Buller, Secretary of the Planning Commission of the City of Rancho
Cucamonga, do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was duly and
regularly introduced, passed, and adopted by the Planning Commission of the
City of Rancho Cucamonga, at a regular meeting of the Planning Commission held
on the 12th day of October, 1988, by the following vote-to-wit:
