FiRE PROTECTION DISTRICT MINUTES
Reqular Meetinq
A. CALL TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District was held on Wednesday, July 21, 1999,
in the Council Chambers of the Civic Center, located at 10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho Cucamonga,
California. The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. by President William J. Alexander.
Present were Boardmembers: Paul Biane, James Curatalo, Bob Dutton, Diane Williams and President William
J. Alexander.
Also present were: Jack Lam, City Manager; James Markman, City Attorney; Linda Daniels, Redevelopment
Agency Director; Flavio Nunez, Assistant RDA Analyst; Rick Gomez, Community Development Director; Bred
Bullet, City Planner; Joe O'Neil, City Engineer; Bill Makshanoff, Building Official; Larry Temple, Administrative
Services Director; Bob Bowery, Information Systems Manager; Kevin McArdle, Community Services Director;
Dave Moore, Recreation Superintendent; Rob Book, Recreation Supervisor; Chief Dennis Michael, Rancho
Cucamonga Fire Protection District; Captain Rodney Hoops, Rancho Cucamonga Police Department; and
Debra J. Adams, Secretary.

D2. Approval to receive and file current Investment Schedule as of June 30, 1999.
D3. Approval of General Fund 01 Monthly Expenditure Report for June, 1999, in the amount of
$695,493.17.
D4. Approval of Mello-Roos CFD 85-01 Fund 02 Monthly Expenditure Report for June, 1999, in the
amount of $189,919.86.
D5. Approval of Right-of-Way Contract (CO FD99-004) between Rancho Cucamonga Fire District and
Caltrans.
D6. Approval of an Agreement between the City of Rancho Cucamonga and the Rancho Cucamonga Fire
Protection District (CO FD99-005) for funding Fire Protection Services during Fiscal Year 1990/00.
MOTION: Moved by Williams, seconded by Biane to approve the staff recommendations in the staff reports
contained in the Consent Calendar. Motion carried unanimously, 5-0.
E. ADVERTISED PUBLIC HEARINGS
El. CONSIDERATION OF APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE FIRE DISTRICT'S
GENERAL FUND FINAL BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 1999/00 IN THE AMOUNT OF $7,886,090
Staff report presented by Jack Lam, City Manager.
President Alexander opened the meeting for public hearing. Them being no response, the public hearing was
closed.
RESOLUTION NO. FD 99-013
A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE RANCHO
CUCAMONGA FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT, COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO,
STATE OF CALIFORNIA, FIXING A FINAL BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR
JULY 1, 1999, THROUGH JUNE 30, 2000
MOTION: Moved by Curatalo, seconded by Dutton to approve Resolution No. FD 99-013. Motion carried
unanimously, 5-0.

G. ADJOURNMENT
MOTION: Moved by Curatalo, seconded by Williams to recess to the conclusion of the Redevelopment
Agency meeting for an executive session to discuss Labor Negotiations per Government Code Section
54957.6, to give Larry Temple, Administrative Services Director, direction in regards to the Meet and Confer
process. Motion carried unanimously, 5-0. The meeting recessed at 7:10 p.m. No action was taken in
executive session.
