Please turn off all cellular phones while the meeting is in session. • Copies of the Planning Commission agendas and minutes can be found at http://www.CityofRC.us CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA • HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION MINUTES Regular Meeting July 11, 2012 Chairman Munoz called the Regular Meeting of the City of Rancho Cucamonga Historic Preservation Commission to order at 7:08 p.m. The meeting was held in the Council Chambers at Rancho Cucamonga Civic Center, 10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho Cucamonga, California. Chairman Munoz then led in the pledge of allegiance. ROLL CALL COMMISSIONERS: PRESENT: Richard Fletcher, Frances Howdyshell, Lou Munoz, Francisco Oaxaca ABSENT: Ray Wimberly STAFF PRESENT: Candyce Burnett, Senior Planner; Steven Flower, Assistant City Attorney; Steve Fowler, Assistant Planner; Dan James, Senior Civil Engineer; Lois Schrader, Planning Commission Secretary; Mike Smith, Associate Planner • ANNOUNCEMENTS A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION AND PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA RECOGNIZING THE SERVICE OF CATHY MORRIS, PLANNING SPECIALIST A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION AND PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA RECOGNIZING THE SERVICE OF LARRY HENDERSON, PRINCIPAL PLANNER Chairman Munoz made the presentations. A presentation was also made to Mr. Henderson by the Sam Maloof Foundation in gratitude for his work on the Sam Maloof Complex relocation. Mr. Henderson said the Maloof Complex project was a career highlight for him and the project he was most proud of. Ms. Morris expressed her thanks. x x r e APPROVAL OF MINUTES Motion: Moved by Fletcher, seconded by Oaxaca, carried 3-0-1-1, (Wimberly absent, Howdyshell abstain) to approve the minutes of June 13, 2012. \i PUBLIC COMMENTS Ed Dietl, of HPARC spoke regarding a successful Historic Home Tour and Car show. He thanked • Vice Chairman Howdyshell for coming to the tour. He reported new signs highlighting Route 66 are ready to be installed. * * * * * COMMISSION BUSINESS AND COMMENTS Vice Chairman Howdyshell said she attended the home tour and she noted the docents were quite knowledgeable. She said this would be good experience for architecture students. ADJOURNMENT Motion: Moved by Oaxaca, seconded by Fletcher, carried 4-0-1, to adjourn.
