2. COUNCIL BUSINESS
2A. STATUS OF MR. PHILIP YENOVKIAN ON THE ADVISORY COMMISSION
MOTION: Moved by MikeIs, seconded by King to remove Philip Yenovkian from the
Advisory Commission.
Mayor Mikeis asked for discussio~ by Council.
Councilwoman Wright read her statement in favor of leaving Philip Yenovkian on
the Advisory Commission.
Councilman Buquet disagreed and expressed he was in favor of removing Philip
Yenovkian from the Advisory Commission.
Councilman Dahl stated he had mixed emotions on this issue, but came to the
decision to remove Phil Yenovkian from the Advisory Commission. He stated that
he felt that Phil Yenovkian, as a citizen, has a right to get up and say what
he wants to. On the other hand, knowing that if he had a problem, or the
citizens had a problem, with the tree ordinance, which they feel is
ineffective, then he as a member of the Advisory Commission had the ability to
refer that item to the Advisory Commission along with his concerns or the
neighbor's concerns. Then the Commission could have made a recommendation to
the Council. He did not choose to operate in that manner. He chose to attempt
to or succeed in causing the citizens in the area to continue in their threats
or actions against the Council. As a Commissioner, Phil Yenovkian's actions
were not in the best interest of the City, neighbors, Council or the Commission
itself which he serves.
Mayor Mikeis opened the meeting for public input. Addressing Council were:
Debby Eggelston, 7165 Teakway, expressed she was not in favor of Phil's
