FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT MINUTES
Regular Meeting
A. CAt,I, TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District was held on Wednesday, November 17, 1993,
in the Council Chambers of the Civic Center, located at 10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho Cucamonga, California.
The meeting was called m order at 7:04 p.m. by President Dennis L. Stout.
Present were Boardmembers: William J. Alexander, Charles J. Buquet II, Rex Gufierrez, Diane Williams, and
President Dennis L. Stout.
Also present were: Jack Lain, City Manager; Ralph Hanson, Deputy City Attorney; Jerry B. Fulwood, Deputy City
Manager; Linda D. Daniels, RDA Manager; Rick Gomez, Community Development Director; Brad Buller, City
Planner; Dan Coleman, Principal Planner; Larry Henderson, Principal Planner; Anthea Hartig, Associate Planner;,
Shintu Bose, Deputy City Engineer; Mike Olivier, Sr. Civil Engineer; Bob Zetterberg, Integrated Waste
Coordinator; Bill Makshanoff, Building Official; Bob Dominguez, Administrative Services Director; Susan Stark,
Finance Officer; Tony Flores, Management Analyst I; Sandy Ramirez, Resource Services Supervisor; Duane Baker,
Assistant to the City Manager; Diane O'Neal, Management Analyst II; Susan Mickey, Management Analyst I; Jan
Sutton, Deputy City Clerk; Chief Dennis Michael, Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District; Capt. Brnce Zeiner,
Rancho Cucamonga Police Department; and Debra J. Adams, Secretary.
B. ANNOUNCEMENTS/PRESENTATIONS
B 1. Presentation of Proclamation acknowledging the efforts of Fire Department Personnel for their participation
in the Massive Mutual Aid efforts in combating the Southern California Firestorms during the weeks of October 25
and November 1, 1993.
President Smut presented the Proclamation to Chief Michael and his staff.
Chief Michael also made comments on mutual aid m other cities and the great job the Rancho Cucamonga Fire
Protection District did.
C. COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBI,IC
CI.
Jacqueline Bolda, Mt. Gunnison Court, stated she was very proud of Rancho Cucamonga's f'trefighters in
assisting the other cities during all the fires.

D. CONSENT CAI.ENDAR
Approval of Minutes: October 20, 1993
Approval to receive and file current Investment Schedule as of October 31, 1993.
Approval of General Fund 01 Monthly Expenditure Report for September 1993, in the amount of
$635,055.03.
D4. Approval of Mello-Roos CFD 85-1 Fund 02 Monthly Expenditure Report for September 1993, in the
amount of $212,135.26.
MOTION: Moved by Gutierrez, seconded by Williams to approve the staff recommendations in the staff reports
contained in the Consent Calendar. Motion carried unanimously, 5-0.
E. STAFF REPORTS
El. CONSIDERATION OF THE PUBLIC SAFETY SUBCOMMITTI~E RECOMMENDATIONS
REGARDING UPGRADES TO THE EXISTING FIRE ENGINE LIGHTING AND SIREN SYSTEMS Staff
report presented by Chief Dennis Michael, Fire DistricL
Boardmember Gutierrez felt this was the first phase to improving things, and then go forward with other things in
the future.
Councilmember Alexander concurred with this.
MOTION: Moved by Stout, seconded by Buquet to approve staffs recommendation. Motion carried unanimously,
5-0.

AD.IOURNMENT
MOTION: Moved by Alexander, sexonded by Buquet to adjourn. Motion camed unanimously, 5-0. The meeting
adjourned at 7:21 p.m.
