TO ORDER A regular meeting of the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection Dislxict was held on Wednesday, May 19, 1993, in the Council Chambers of the Civic Center, located at 10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho Cucamonga, California. The meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. by President Dennis L. Stout. Present were Boardmembers: William J. Alexander, Charles J. Buquet II, Rex Gutierrez, Diane Williams, and President Dennis L. Stout. Also present were: Jack Lain, City Manager; James Markman, City Attorney; JerW B. Fulwood, Deputy City Manager; Rick Gomez, Community Development Director; Linda D. FD 93-002 A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE RANCHO CUCAMONGA FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING THE BORROWING OF FUNDS FOR FISCAL YEAR 1993-94 AND THE ISSUANCE AND SALE OF A 1993-94 TAX AND REVENUE ANTICIPATION NOTE THEREFOR AND PARTICIPATION IN THE CALIFORNIA CASH FLOW FINANCING PROGRAM D6. Approval of an amendment to legal services agreement (CO FD 90-001) between Markman, Arczynski, Hanson & King, and the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District (1302-00 FIRE DIST) MOTION: Moved by Alexander, seconded by Willlares to approve the recommendations of the staff reponl contained in the Consent Calendar. SIDENTS AT ~ APRH, 21. 1993 BOARD MEETING Staff report presented by Chief Dennis Michael, Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection Disaict, who stated the owner has cleaned up his property and is in conformance with all cedes. (1302-00 FIRE DIST) President Stout opened the meeting for public input. Addressing the Board was: Jeff Kinney, 7045 Wakefield, stated he and his neighbors are still concerned because some of the trees hang over into their yards and feel it is still a dangerous situation. Chief Michael, Fire District, stated the property owners can cut that portion of the trees that hang over into their property. Mr. Kinney alale~d that would be costly to have that done and could the city do something to help get this done by the neighboring property owner. There being no further input, the public comments section was closed. Chief Michael, Fire District, stated he would write a letter to the property owner requesting the trees be trimmed, but did not know if there was any code that could make him do this. Boardmember Buquet felt the City should contact the owner thanking him for his quick action on the clean-up matters, but could he also aim the trees. James Markman, City Attorney, stated he did not know if the City could do anything that they have not already done. F2. CONSIDERATION OF AMENDMENTS TO THE 1991 UNIFORM FIRE CODE AND 1991 CALIFORNIA FIRE CODE AND TO SET A PUBLIC HEARING FOR JULY 7. 1993 Staff report presented by Chief Dennis Michael, Fire District. (1302-00 FIRE DIST) Debra J. Adams, Secretary, read the title of Ordinance No. FD 22. ORDINANCE NO. FD 22 (preliminary reading) AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE RANCHO CUCAMONGA FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT, CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE UNIFORM FIRE CODE 1991 EDITION; AND MAKING CERTAIN DELETIONS, MODIFICATIONS AND AMENDMENTS THERETO AND MAKING CERTAIN DELETIONS, MODIFICATIONS AND AMENDMENTS TO THE CALIFORNIA FIRE CODE 1991 EDITION MOTION: Moved by Alexander, seconded by Williams to accept preliminary reading and set the public hearing for July 7, 1993. Motion carried unanimously, 5-0. F. IDENTIFICATION OF ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETING No items were identified. G. ADJOURNMENT MOTION: Moved by Buquet, seconded by Alexander to recess to an Executive Session to discuss personnel matters at the conclusion of the City Council meeting (11:33 p.m.), and for the Executive Session to adjourn to a Budget Workshop to be held on Wednesday, May 26, 1993, 6:00 p.m., in the Tri-Communities Conference Room.
