FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT MINUTES
ReGular Meeting
A. CALL TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District was held on Wednesday, September 18,
1996, in the Council Chambers of the Civic Center, located at 10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho Cucamonga,
California. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President William J. Alexander.
Present were Boardmembers: Paul Biane, James Curatalo, Rex Gutierrez, Diane Williams, and President
William J. Alexander.
Also present were: Jack Lam, City Manager; James Markman, City Attorney; Brad Buller, City Planner; Joe
O'Neil, City Engineer; Bob Zetterberg, Integrated Waste Coordinator; Larry Temple, Administrative Services
Director; Suzanne Ota, Community Services Manager; Paula Pachon, Management Analyst II; Deborah Clark,
Library Manager; Duane Baker, Assistant to the City Manager; Diane O'Neal, Management Analyst II; Chief
Dennis Michael, Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District; Lt. Joe Henry, Rancho Cucamonga Police
Department; and Debra J. Adams, Secretary.

No announcemen~ or presentations were made.
C. COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC
No communications were made from the public.
D. CONSENT CALENDAR
D1. Approval of Minutes: August 7, 1996
August 21, 1996
D2. Approval to receive and file current Investment Schedule as of August 31, 1996.
D3. Approval of General Fund 01 Monthly Expenditure Report for August, 1996 in the amount of
$620,515.29.
D4. Approval of Mello-Roos CFD 85-01 Fund 02 Monthly Expenditure Report for August, 1996 in the
amount of $229,119.01.

D5. Approval of a request by the Rancho Cucamonga Chamber of Commerce to waive Fire Distdct Fees
in conjunction with the annual Grape Harvest Festival.
MOTION: Moved by Guljerrez, seconded by Curatalo to approve the staff recommendations in the staff reports
contained in the Consent Calendar. Motion carried unanimously, 5-0.
E. IDENTIFICATION OF ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETING
No items were identified for the next meeting.
F. ADJOURNMENT
MOTION: Moved by Biane, seconded by Curatalo to recess to the conclusion of the Council meeting for an
Executive Session to discuss Labor Negotiations per Government Code Section 54957.6 to give Larry Temple,
Administrative Services Director, direction in regards to the Meet and Confer process. Motion carried
unanimously, 5-0. The meeting recessed at 7:03 p.m. No action was taken in Executive Session.
