This is the time and place for the general public to address the
Library Foundation Board. State law prohibits the Board from
addressing any issue not previously included on the Agenda.
C. ELECTION OF BOARD OFFICERS
1. Election of Officers for as mandated by Library Board of
Trustees by-laws. Presided over by Ruth Leal, President.
D. CONSENT CALENDAR
The following Consent Calendar items are expected to be routine and
non-controversial. They will be acted upon by the Library Foundation
Board at one time without discussion. Any item may be removed by a
Member or member of the audience for discussion.
1. Consideration to approve Library Foundation Treasurer's
Report of: April, 2015.
2. Consideration to approve Minutes of: May 4, 2015.
E. LIBRARY DIRECTOR'S STAFF REPORTS
The following items do not legally require any public testimony,
although the President may open the meeting for public input.
1. Consideration and discussion regarding the Library Status.
The oral report will be presented by Michelle Perera, Library
Director.

1. Consideration and discussion regarding Tour de Fork and
other Library Foundation fundraisers. Discussion led by
President Leal.
2. Consideration and discussion regarding 2015-2016 Library
Foundation Budget.
3. Consideration and discussion regarding potential new
members. The discussion will be led by President Leal.
4. Consideration and discussion regarding annual board retreat.
5. Consideration and discussion regarding ad hoc sub-
committees. The discussion will be led by President Leal.

Regular Meeting
A. CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Rancho Cucamonga Public Library Foundation Board was held on
Monday, May 4, 2015, in the Tri-Communities Room, located at the City of Rancho Cucamonga
at 10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho Cucamonga, California. The meeting was called to order at
6:02 p.m. Present were Members Akahoshi, Davies, Gonzalez, May, Scott, Soehnel and Sommer.
Also present were Phil Rodriguez, Francie Palmer, Communications Manager, Michelle Perera,
Library Director, Donald Granger, Senior Planner and Vivian Garcia, Administrative Secretary.
B. COMMUNICATIONS FROM THE PUBLIC
None were presented.
C. PUBLIC PRESENTATION
Cl. Presentation and discussion regarding the 2015 Special Olympics World Games Host
Town Activities. Presented by Francie Palmer, Communications Manager.
Francie Palmer, Communications Manager, presented a PowerPoint Presentation on the 2015
Special Olympics World Games Host"Fown Activities in Rancho Cucamonga to the Members.
Member Gilfry and Pam Easter arrived at 6:14 p.m.
C2. Presentation and discussion update on West-Side Parks and Lighting District. Presented
by Francie Palmer, Communications Manager.
Francie Palmer, Communications Manager, presented a PowerPoint Presentation on West Side
Parks and Lighting District to the Members.
D. CONSENT CALENDAR
D1. Consideration to approve Library Foundation Treasurer's Report of: March, 2015.
MOTION: Moved by Member Davies to approve the Treasurer's Report, seconded by Member
Sommer, motion carried, 8-0-1 (with Leal absent).

E. LIBRARY DIRECTOR'S STAFF REPORTS
El. Consideration and discussion regarding the Library Status. The oral report by Michelle
Perera, Library Director.
Michelle Perera, Library Director, presented an oral update to the Members on the Assistant
Library Director position.
Library Director Perera reviewed the San Bernardino and Riverside Counties Community
Foundation Grant with the Members which Library staff had submitted.
F. BOARD BUSINESS
Fl. Consideration and discussion of"four de Fork. The discussion will be led by President
Leal.
Library Director Perera updated the Members on the events that would be held at the Library
during the month of May. Flyers of the events were presented to the Members.
Michelle Perera, Library Director, stated that the Library filled the position for the Assistant
Library Director. Brian Sternberg will be starting June I" and will attend the next Library
Foundation Board meeting.
Library Director Perera updated the Members on the status of the second floor.
F2. Consideration and discussion regarding Election of Board Officers. Discussion led by
President Leal.
After discussion, Member Scott will consider the office of President, Member Gonzalez will
consider the office of Vice President and Member Gilfry will consider the office of Secretary.
F3. Consideration and discussion regarding potential new Members. The discussion will be
led by President Leal.
Library Director Perera stated two applications have been received by the City Clerk's office and
she will contact the City Council sub-committee for the Library to request a meeting.
