CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA
SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL
CALL TO ORDER
A Special Meeting of the Rancho Cucamonga City Council was held on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 in
the Tri-Communities Room, City Hall, 10500 Civic Center Drive, Rancho Cucamonga, CA 91730.
Mayor L. Dennis Michael called the meeting to order at 3:32 p.m.
Mayor Pro Tem Kennedy led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Present were Council Members Alexander, Spagnolo, Williams. Mayor Pro Tern Kennedy and Mayor Michael.
PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS
J. Gregory Wright, Friends of the Pacific Electric Trail, spoke on preservation and restoration efforts for the
Pacific Electrical Trail and provided a handout to the City Council with informational material on the Friends
of the PE Trail.
C. CONSENT CALENDAR — FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
1. VERBAL PRESENTATION ON THE ETIWANDA TRAIN DEPOT PRESERVATION AND
RESTORATION PROJECT AND DIRECTION FOR FURTHER DEVELOPMENT AND USE OF THE
PROPERTY.
John Gillison, City Manager, provided an update on the Etiwanda Train Depot Preservation and Restoration
Project.
Erika Lewis-Huntley, Management Analyst III, provided a PowerPoint presentation that went over the
background,property, past improvements, next phase of improvements and project timeline for the Etiwanda
Train Depot Preservation Project. Management Analyst III Lewis-Huntley went over staff's recommendation
to prepare and conduct a formal RFP process to secure a tenant for the Etiwanda Depot.
Discussion ensued on the selection criteria for the proposal, maintenance costs to preserve the facility, time
frame for the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, public access to facility, and registering the facility as
part of the Historical National Register.
Council Member Williams inquired to receive a copy of a draft RFP.
City Manager Gillison responded that it will be available to the Council and the item will return to Council.
MOTION: Moved by Council Member Alexander, seconded by Council Member Spagnolo, to approve Staff's
recommendation to Prepare and Conduct a formal RFP process to secure a tenant for the Etiwanda Depot.
Motion carried unanimously, 5-0.

Mayor Michael adjourned the meeting at 4:15 p.m.
