The ASPCA is celebrating June as
Adopt-A-Cat month to educate people
about the wonderful cats and kittens
available for adoption at animal
shelters. They want to “encourage
everyone to make pet adoption thier
first option and to educate people
about improving their quality of life
through the companionship of a cat.”
The Rancho Cucamonga Animal Care & Adoption Center has a
variety of adorable, fun and cuddly felines just waiting to find their new
companion. Visit us today and see which new four legged friend will
melt your heart. Be sure to log onto our website www.RCPets.info for
information about all of our available animals, programs and services.
If you aren’t ready to adopt a cat, we encourage you to inquire about
becoming a Volunteer Cat Socializer here at the center.
It’s HoT outside!
It takes only minutes for a pet left in a vehicle on a
warm day to succumb to heatstroke and suffocation.
Most people don’t realize how hot it can get in a
parked car! On a 78° day, temperatures in a car
parked in the shade can exceed 90° and hit a
scorching 160° if parked in the sun!
Animals are not able to sweat like humans. Dogs cool
themselves by panting and sweating through their paws. If they
have only overheated air to breath, animals can collapse, suffer
brain damage and possibly die of heatstroke. It only takes 15
minutes for an animal’s body temperature to climb from a normal
102.5° to deadly levels.
Animal Rescue Friends (ARF) Committee
The Rancho Cucamonga Animal Care Center formed a fundraising
committee called Animal Rescue Friends. The Committee plans
fundraising events for much needed funds that will help rehabilitate
sick and/or injured animals. Committee activities reach out to the
Rancho Cucamonga community, spotlighting the many wonderful
adoptable pets and services at the center .
Do you love to help people and animals? Do you like to meet new and
interesting people? If so, the ARF Committee is looking for individuals
who might be interested in joining our group. The committee is
responsible for coming up with new fundraising events throughout the
year. New ideas are always needed and new faces are always
welcome! If you have fundraising or event planning experience, or if
you just want to have fun making a difference in the lives of homeless
pets, please contact Barbara at (909) 466-7387 Ext: 2075.
