Puppy Rhymes and
Story Times
Are you looking for a fun interactive
reading program for your 6 - 9 year
old? Is your child curious about
animals and interested in learning
more about them? We have just the
program for you. Puppy Rhymes and
Story Times is a unique partnership
between the Rancho Cucamonga
Library and Animal Care and
Adoption Center to provide your
reluctant reader an opportunity to read to a certified Therapy
Dog. They also get to learn lots of fun animal facts and basic
humane education at the same time. What better way to
promote the human-animal bond than through the joy of
reading. Check out www.RCPets.info for more information.
National Adopt a
Shelter Cat Month
June has been designated by the
American Society for the Prevention
of Cruelty to Animals as “Adopt a
Shelter Cat Month.” Our Animal
Center has a wonderful variety of cute
and cuddly kittens and cats just waiting
to snuggle into your arms and melt your heart. The ASPCA and
the RC Animal Center want to help educate the public about all
the fantastic animals that are available for adoption.
Summer Love
Hot summer days can be stressful to pets. Dogs and cats need
to have plenty of fresh water available and a cool shady place to
rest and get out of the sun. Bring pets inside on very hot days.
Never leave your pet in a vehicle in hot weather – even for a
short while. Temperatures can climb well over 120° in a car in
just a few minutes, even with the windows open! Your pet could
become overheated quickly and heat stroke can be fatal. Don’t
over exercise your pet on hot days. Remember: Pets need a cool
environment and also need to stay hydrated in summer just like
you! Keep in mind, they wear a fur coat that can’t be remove!
