Upcoming Events Bark in the Ballpark August 15th The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes are excited to welcome “man’s best friend” to the Epicenter to enjoy America’s national pastime with “Bark in the Ballpark.” All owners will be required to sign a waiver prior to entering the game and are responsible for any “mess” made by their furry friends. All pets must be well-behaved and leashed. Tickets may be ordered in advance or the day of the game by calling the Quakes Ticket Office at (909) 481-5252. Proceeds from the pet passes will benefit the Rancho Cucamonga Animal Care and Adoption Center. Furr y Friends Festival and Pet Walk-a-thon October 6th The R ancho Cucamonga Animal Care and Adoption Center invites you to participate in the third annual Furry Friends Festival and Pet Walk-a-Thon on Saturday, October 6th. You, your friends, family members, neighbors, kids, co-workers, corporate teams, indi viduals and anyone else who loves a howlin’ good time are encouraged to create or join a dog “pack”. It’s a lot of fun for the whole famil y, whether your family includes the two-legged members or the four-legged ones. We need a big show of community support! This event includes a walk-a-thon with your pet, food vendors, pet contests, pet demonstrations, educational material, activities for children and an opportunity for prize drawings. Sponsors and vendors are still needed so please call us at (909) 466-7387 or visit our website at www.rcpets.info for more information. All proceeds from the event will go to helping the animals at the Rancho Cucamonga Animal Center. FREE Spay For Your Momma Cat Free-roaming cats have an impact on wildlife that is a benefit to people. The focus dealing with feral cat populations is not to "get rid of them" but to get the adults tested for diseases that can harm other healthy cats, to vaccinate them, and to get them spayed or neutered.  TNR (Trap-Neuter-Release) programs like the one at the Animal Center helps significantly to improve both the health and the quality of life for feral cats and prevent more from being born. People who provide food to feral cats may not realize the importance of having them spayed neutered or where to go for help in doing so. That is where we come in. The Animal Center has more information on how you can help the feral cats in your community. TNR is a humane program for managing feral cat colonies by trapping and neutering them. Ears are notched during surgery to serve as a visual account once the feline is returned to the area they were found. The cats are provided food, water and shelter so that they have the best opportunity to li ve a safe and healthy life without reproducing. This also prevents new cats from moving in to the area and maintains a small but stable population of cats that cannot reproduce, preventing thousands of unwanted kittens from being born. TNR requires a commitment from one or more volunteer caregivers. Please contact us directl y if you’d like to participate in this program; it is free to residents and businesses of Rancho Cucamonga.  Now accepting American Express as well as VISA & Mastercard.AnImAl CEnTERFor more information visit our website at www.rcpets.info.
