How You Can Help ~
Are you collecting donations of food,
crates,blankets,towels,leashes,kitten
milk replacement (KMR),toys,etc?
These items can be dropped off at
our Center anytime and are used
for our homeless animals.Generous
contributions from our community
help make a difference in the lives of
homeless and abused animals.
Help us realize our mission by
volunteering,fostering kittens and
puppies,attending our fundraising
events, and by donating items from our
Wish List posted on www.rcpets.info.
For any additional questions,please call
(909)466-7387 x.2075.
October Is Adopt-A-Dog-Month ~
Throughout the month of October,the
American Humane Association joins with
animal shelters across the country in celebrating Adopt-A-
Dog-Month.People are encouraged to help homeless ani-
mals by opening their hearts and homes to dogs in need
and provide great value, variety and service. The Rancho
Cucamonga Animal Care and Adoption Center can help
you to find the perfect pet.By adopting a dog from the
Animal Center, you can change the life of a precious animal
by providing a much needed loving home.
Don’t Believe Everything You Hear ~
Ask any staff member or volunteer at the
Rancho Cucamonga Animal Center who
their favorite dog is,they very well might
name a Pit Bull.Pit Bulls come in all
different sizes and colors but the one
thing they have in common is their love
of people. They truly have the biggest
hearts in the dog world and you will be
hard-pressed to find a breed that is more
eager to please their human companions.
Unfortunately,the Pit Bull has suffered
a bad rap for some time and has been
misrepresented and misunderstood.
The truth is,properly socialized,Pit Bulls
not only make great family dogs but they excel in a variety of
settings such as therapy work and agility contests.Pit Bulls
are generally healthy and hardy. They are also intelligent,
making them easy to train, and their playful,clown-like
nature makes them ideal companions for children.
If you live an active lifestyle, are committed to teaching your
dog his or her ABC’s and don’t mind being smothered with
kisses, then look no further -you have just met your canine
match! The Rancho Cucamonga Animal Center has plenty
of wonderful,well-behaved Pit Bulls that are available for
adoption today!
Read a Tale to a Tail ~
This fun program, done through a partnership of the
Libraries and Animal Care and Adoption Center, offers
children the opportunity to read animal related short
stories to a furry friend from the Animal Center. It
makes reading fun, boosts confidence and encourages
respectful, humane treatment for all animals. In addition,
the books help children realize that animals experience a
range of emotions similar to their own and that they have
basic needs much like those of humans.
