A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE
RANCHO CUCAMONGA FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT, STATE
OF CALIFORNIA, ACKNOWLEDGING RECEIPT OF A REPORT
REGARDING THE DISTRICT'S COMPLIANCE WITH ANNUAL
INSPECTION REQUIREMENTS APPLICABLE TO CERTAIN
OCCUPANCIES IN THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA
WHEREAS, California Health and Safety Code Section 13146.4 was added in 2018, and
became effective on September 27, 2018; and,
WHEREAS, California Health and Safety Code Sections 13146.2 and 13146.3 require all
fire departments that provide fire protection services, including the Rancho Cucamonga Fire
Protection District ("District" sometimes herein), to perform annual inspections of every building
used as a public or private school, hotel, motel, lodging house, or apartment house for compliance
with building standards, including standards related to fire and panic safety; and,
WHEREAS, California Health and Safety Code Section 13146.2 requires all fire
departments that provide fire protection services, which includes the District, to enforce building
standards to provide a report annually ("Compliance Report")to the District Board of Directors on
its compliance with Sections 13146.2 and 13146.3; and,
WHEREAS, the purpose of this Resolution is to acknowledge receipt by the District's
Board of Directors of the Compliance Report in order to fulfill the requirements of the California
Health &Safety Code concerning the District's compliance with California Health and Safety Code
Sections 13146.2 and 13146.3; and
WHEREAS, the District provides fire protection services exclusively throughout the City
of Rancho Cucamonga.

NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS FOUND AND RESOLVED by the Board of Directors of the
Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District, as follows:
1. The facts set forth in the recitals, above, are true and correct.
2. The Board of Directors of the District hereby expressly acknowledges receipt of
the Compliance Report.
3. The Board of Directors of the District further finds that the District has substantially
complied with the inspection requirements set forth in California Health and Safety Code Sections
13146.2 and 13146.3 for the reporting period of calendar year 2019 as follows:
A. EDUCATIONAL GROUP E OCCUPANCIES:
Educational Group E occupancies are generally those public and private schools, used by
more than six persons at any one time for educational purposes through the 12th grade. Within
the City of Rancho Cucamonga there are 53 Group E occupancies, buildings, structures and/or
facilities.
The District completed the annual inspection of 49 of the Group E occupancies that are
required to be inspected annually. This is a compliance rate of 92% for this reporting period.
Additional items of note regarding this compliance rate can be found in the accompanying
staff report for this resolution.
B. RESIDENTIAL GROUP R OCCUPANCIES:
Residential Group R occupancies, for the purposes of this resolution, are generally those
occupancies containing sleeping units. Compliance with the Health and Safety Code Sections
referenced herein requires inspections of Group R occupancies approved for use as hotels,
motels, apartment buildings (three units or more), and apartment complexes (multiple apartment
buildings). Within the City of Rancho Cucamonga, there are 177 Group R (and their associated
sub-categories) occupancies of this nature.

The District completed the annual inspection of 175 of the Group R occupancies that are
required to be inspected annually. This is a compliance rate of 99% for this reporting period.
Additional items of note regarding this compliance rate can be found in the accompanying
staff report for this resolution which is on file with the Secretary of the District.
4. The Secretary of the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District shall certify to the
adoption of this Resolution.
