HomeMy WebLinkAbout2020-11-19 - Supplemental Trails Advisory Committee November 19 , 2020 DISCUSSION ON GENERAL PLAN UPDATE Overview • The City's current General Plan was approved in 2010; • General Plan's guiding principles include "Spirit of Rancho Cucamonga" and "Healthy Mind, Body and Earth"; • Land Use, Community Mobility and Community Services Chapters of the General Plan establish a variety of goals and objectives for trails (including equestrian, bicycle, pedestrian, etc. ). Overview ( Cont . ) • As of January 2020, the City has initiated a comprehensive General Plan update (Plan RC) to ensure the General Plan continues to reflect the aspirations of the community at-large; • PlanRC's core values: Health, Equity and Stewardship; • Outreach to public and various important stakeholders is ongoing in order to receive input on future policies. TAC Input • Mobility and Circulation are critical — and required — elements of the General Plan; • Tonight's objective: solicit input and feedback from the TAC; CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA Questions to consider 1. Trails — what's working and what's not? 2. What would the TAC like to see in the future? 3. What are constraints (to existing network and future improvements/expansion)? 4. How do we ensure mobility equity throughout the City? 5. What are the best opportunities to integrate pedestrians, bicyclists, equestrian and link to other community resources (parks, open spaces, etc.)?
