A. CALL TO ORDER
The City of Rancho Cucamonga Public Art Committee held a regular meeting on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 by
teleconference due to the Governor's Executive Orders, the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health
requirements, and to ensure the health and safety of Rancho Cucamonga residents by limiting contact that could
spread the COVID-19 virus. Chair Leslie Matamoros called the meeting to order at 5:11 p.m.
Present: Committee Members Bryan Dopp, Jaymie Leslie, Leslie Matamoros, and Paula Pachon.
Absent: Committee Member John L. Machado, Jr.
Also present were Erika Lewis -Huntley, Management Analyst III; and Monica Mahoney, Consultant with Gemini
Projects.
B. PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS
No public communications were made.
C. COMMITTEE BUSINESS
C1. Consideration to approve the minutes of October 6, 2020.
MOTION: Moved by Bryan Dopp, seconded by Jaymie Leslie, to approve meeting minutes of October 6,
2020. Motion carried unanimously, 4-0. (AYES: Dopp, Leslie, Matamoros, and Pachon. NOES: None;
ABSTAIN: None)
C2. Update on the status of the Public Art Fund.
Erika Lewis -Huntley, Management Analyst III, provided an update on the status of the Public Art Fund balance
and reported $548,330.41 has been received to date.
MOTION: N/A
C3. Update on the Public Art donation and discussion of site selection.
Erika Lewis -Huntley, Management Analyst III, provided an update on the public art donation. City Council
approved the acceptance of the art piece at the October 2 1 " City Council Meeting. Public Works staff will be
coordinating with the developer to take possession of the art piece. Discussion ensued regarding site selection
and Committee Members requested specifications of the art piece to assist with the deliberation of the site
selection process.

C4. Discussion of the Public Art Strategic Plan.
Monica Mahoney, Founding Director of Gemini Projects and consultant for the Public Art Strategic Plan,
reviewed outcomes thus far in the strategic planning process. Monica shared that community outreach will be
launched in the beginning of the new calendar year. Monica is currently working with City staff to prepare for
the Phase 2 community outreach. Outreach strategies include the development of a recognizable graphic image,
a dedicated webpage, informational and inspirational videos, social media plan, and virtual/online interactive
community meetings.

Chair Leslie Matamoros adjourned the meeting at 5:52 p.m. The next Public Art Committee Meeting will be January
5, 2021 at 5:00 p.m.
