Design Overview
• The Sunday school and social building are designed
with a Mediterranean architectural design theme that
includes the use of smooth stucco, stone veneer, cast
stone accents, and "S" the roof.
• The Sunday school and social building is designed to
carry over the design theme of the existing church
• The new building will have a maximum height of 31 -
feet.

Conditional Use Permit Modification
• Existing Church Hours of Operation :
• Sunday, Wednesday, & Friday-8AM to 12PM
• Saturday-71PM to 9PM
• The church hours will remain the same .
• Proposed Sunday School Hours of Operation :
• Sundays from 11AM to 1 PM
• Fellowship lunch from 12PM to 2pm
Neighborhood Meeting
• The applicant held a neighborhood meeting via
Zoom on March 30, 2021 @ 6 :00 pm .
• Notifications were sent on March 17 , 2021 .
• No neighboring property owners attended the
meeting , and no comments/concerns were
presented to staff.
Design Review Committee
• The project was reviewed by the Design
Review Committee (Guglielmo, Williams, and
Smith ) on May 4, 2021 . The Committee
recommended that the project move forward as
presented to the Planning Commission for final
review and approval .
Public Correspondence
• Public notifications for public meeting was
conducted in accordance with the Code
requirement of 660 feet radius.
Environmental Assessment
• This item is exempt from the requirements of
the California Environmental Quality Act
(CEQA) and the City's CEQA guidelines under
CEQA Section :
• The project qualifies as a Class 32 exemption
under State CEQA Guidelines Section 15332 -
In-Fill Development Projects
Public Art
• Per Development Code Section 17 - 124 - 020
(Public Art Required ), places of worship are
exempt from the public art requirement.
Staff Recommendation
• Approve Design Review DRC2020-00199 and
Conditional Use Permit Modification DRC2020-
00471 through the adoption of the attached
Resolution of Approvals with Conditions .
