A. CALL TO ORDER
The City of Rancho Cucamonga Public Art Committee held a regular meeting on Tuesday,October 5,2021 by
teleconference due to the Governor's Executive Orders,the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health
requirements,and to ensure the health and safety of Rancho Cucamonga residents by limiting contact that could
spread the COVID-19 virus.Chair Leslie Matamoros called the meeting to order at 5:40 p.m.
Present: Committee Members Bryan Dopp,Jaymie Leslie,John Machado,Leslie Matamoros,and Paula Pachon
Absent:None
Also present were Erika Lewis-Huntley,Management Analyst III;Monica Mahoney,Consultant with Gemini
Projects,Clarence De Guzman,Community Programs Coordinator;and Joanna Marrufo,Management Aide.
B. PUBLIC COMMUNICATIONS
No public communications were made.
C. COMMITTEE BUSINESS
Cl.Consideration to approve the minutes of July 6,2021.
MOTION:Moved by John Machado,seconded by Jaymie Leslie,to approve meeting minutes of July 6,2021.
Motion carried unanimously,5-0(AYES: Dopp,Leslie,Machado,Matamoros,and Pachon.NOES:None;
ABSTAIN:None).
C2.Update on the status of the Public Art Fund.
Erika Lewis-Huntley,Management Analyst III,provided an update on the status of the Public Art Fund balance;
total$581,355.06.

C3.Update on the Public Art Strategic Plan.
Monica Mahoney,Founding Director of Gemini Projects and consultant for the Public Art Strategic Plan,
reviewed outcomes thus far in the strategic planning process.Monica shared that Phase 2 Community Outreach
has been completed. The team is currently reviewing the data from the survey and themes from the affinity
groups.The team will analyze the data and findings and share at a future meeting.

C4.Presentation on the Los Amigos Neighborhood Project.
Clarence De Guzman,Community Programs Coordinator,and Joanna Marrufo,Management Aide,provided an
update on the Los Amigos Neighborhood Traffic Safety and Community Art Project.A video of the event was
shared and showcased how successful multisector partnerships can address community concerns and improve
quality of life through vibrant,large-scale community street art and innovative traffic calming measures. In
collaboration with the non-profit Music Changing Lives,Los Amigos Elementary School,Inland Empire Health
Plan(IEHP),and Southern California Association of Governments(SCAG),the City worked alongside
residents in the Southwest Cucamonga neighborhood to design and install compassion-themed sidewalk murals
along the perimeter of Los Amigos Elementary School,as well as an intersection mural that reflects the
neighborhood's values of diversity and unity.The City also installed traffic calming infrastructure to reduce
vehicle speeds and promote pedestrian safety.

Chair Leslie Matamoros adjourned the meeting at 7:09 p.m.The next Public Art Committee Meeting has not been
scheduled.A schedule for meetings in 2002 will be developed and shared out.
