A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF
THE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD
IN SAID CITY AS REQUIRED BY THE PROVISIONS OF THE LAWS OF
THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING TO THE GENERAL LAW CITIES.
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws relating to General
Law Cities in the State of California, a regular general municipal
election shall be held on the 8th day of April 1980, for the election of
five members of the City Council of said City with three members for a
full term of four years and two members for a term of two years,(a City
Clerk of said City for the full term of four years, and a City Treasurer
of said City for the full term of four years);
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA,
CALIFORNIA, DOES HERE~Y RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That pursuant to the requirements of the laws of
the State of California relating to General Law Cities within said
State, there shall be, and there is hereby called and ordered, held in
the City of Rancho Cucamonga, County of San Bernardino, State of California,
on Tuesday the 8th day of April 1980, a regular general municipal
election of the qualified electors of said City for the purpose of
electing three members of the City Council of said City for a full term
of four years and two members will serve a term of two years; (a City
Clerk of said City for the full term of four years; and a City Treasurer
of said City for the full term of four years).
SECTION 2: That the ballots to be used at said election shall
be, both as to form and matter contained therein, such as may be required
by law to be used thereat.
SECTION 3: That the City Clerk of said City is hereby authorized,
instructed and directed to procure and furnish any and all official
ballots, notices, printed matter and all supplies, equipment and paraphernalia
that may be necessary in order to properly and lawfully conduct said
election.
SECTION 4: That notice of the date of holding said election
is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby authorized, instructed and
directed to give such further or additional notice of said election in
time, form and manner as required by law.
SECTION 5: That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage
and adoption of this Resolution; shall enter the same in the book of
original resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of the passage
and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council
of said City, in the minutes of the meetings at which the same is passed
and adopted.
SECTION 6: The City is, in this election, placing the issue
of appointment of the City Treasurer and City Clerk before the voters.
In the event the voters approve the appointment of the City Treasurer
and City Clerk, the election as to those officiers only shall be of no
effect.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 2nd day of Januarv, 1980.
