HomeMy WebLinkAbout78-53 - Resolutions RESOLUTION NO. 78-53 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY TO CONSTRUCT SIGNALS AT THE INTERSECTIONS OF BASELINE STREET/ARCHIBALD AVENUE AND SAN BERNARDINO ROAD/FOOTHILL BOULEVARD. WHEREAS, the projects for installation of traffic signals and safety lighting at the San Bernardino Road/Foothill Boulevard and Baseline Street/Archibald Avenue intersections were included in the San Bernardino County Road Budget at the time of incorporation of the City of Rancho Cucamonga: and WHEREAS, the City and County have agreed that the projects should be completed by the County in the same manner as originally planned: and WHEREAS, State Law provides for the acceptance of City streets into the County Road System for purDoses of construction (to comply with requirements that County Road funds be spent solely on the County Road System): and WHEREAS, upon completion of the construction it will be a~ropriate for the City to resume all maintenance responsibility. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga requests the County to arrange for and administer the installation of traffic signals and related facilities at the San Bernardino Road/Foothill Boulevard and Baseline Street/Archibald Avenue intersections; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council consents to designa- tion of the portion of San Bernardino Road from Foothill Boulevard west 250 feet, and portions of Archibald Avenue and Baseline Street extending 250 feet either side of the intersection of said streets as County Roads from the date of award of a contract to acceptance of the contract as complete; and BE IT ALSO RESOLVED that upon acceptance of the contract as complete by the County Board of Supervisors, San Bernardino Road, Archibald Avenue and Baseline Street shall automatically revert to City street status and all maintenance responsibility assumed by the County during the construction period shall become the responsibility of the City.
