A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, URGING THE SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO RETAIN THE MUNICIPAL COURT WITHIN
THE CITY
WHEREAS, the City of Rancho Cucamonga was incorporated on November 30,
1977, with an estimated population over 40,000; and
WHEREAS, the new City is entitled to a municipal court in place of
the justice court that has served the residents in the City for many years;
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA DOES RESOLVE:
SECTION 1: That the municipal court to be established in February
1978 should remain within the City in order to serve the convenience of its
residents. That the travel time and energy costs of going to another city
would more than offset any possible savings by consolidation.
SECTION 2: Therefore, the City Council petition the Board of
Supervisors that the people be heard at the hearing established for January 17
to carefully consider the travel time and convenience to all of the residents
by maintaining the municipal court within the City of Rancho Cucamonga.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED by unanimous action this 4th day
of January, 1978.
