HomeMy WebLinkAbout78-01 - ResolutionsRESOLUTION NO. 78-1 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, URGING THE SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO RETAIN THE MUNICIPAL COURT WITHIN THE CITY WHEREAS, the City of Rancho Cucamonga was incorporated on November 30, 1977, with an estimated population over 40,000; and WHEREAS, the new City is entitled to a municipal court in place of the justice court that has served the residents in the City for many years; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA DOES RESOLVE: SECTION 1: That the municipal court to be established in February 1978 should remain within the City in order to serve the convenience of its residents. That the travel time and energy costs of going to another city would more than offset any possible savings by consolidation. SECTION 2: Therefore, the City Council petition the Board of Supervisors that the people be heard at the hearing established for January 17 to carefully consider the travel time and convenience to all of the residents by maintaining the municipal court within the City of Rancho Cucamonga. PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED by unanimous action this 4th day of January, 1978. ATTEST:  ~Mayor~~ Rancho Cucamonga
