A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE
HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN
SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, APRIL 13, 1982, FOR THE ELECTION
OF CERTAIN OFFICERS OF SAID CITY AS REQUIRED BY THE PRO-
VISIONS OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING
TO GENERAL LAW CITIES AND FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE
QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF::$AID CITY OF A QUESTION RELATING
TO WHETHER THE OFFICES OF CITY CLERK AND CITY TREASURER
SHALL BE APPOINTED
WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws relating to general
law cities in the State of California, a regular general municipal
election shall be held on April 13, 1982, for the election of three (3)
Members of the City Council of said'City for the full term of four
years; and
WHEREAS, the City ~ncil of said City also desires to submit
to the qualified electors.of ~aid City at said election the question
relating to the offices of:City Clerk and City Treasurer hereinafter set
forth.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA,
CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: That pursuant to the requirements of the laws of
the State of California relating to General Law Cities within said
State, there shall be, and there is hereby called and ordered, held in
the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California on Tuesday, April 13, 1982, a
regular municipal election of the qualified electors of said City for
the purpose of electing three (3) Members of the City Council of said
City for the full term of four years.
SECTION 2: That said City Council, persuant to its right and
authority so to do, does hereby determine that there shall be and there
is hereby ordered submitted to the qualified electors of said City at
said regular general municipal election the following question, to wit:
Shall the offices of City Clerk YES
and City Treasurer be appointive. NO
A cross (+) placed in the voting square after the word "YES"
in the manner hereinbefore provided shall be counted in favor of the
adoption of the question. A cross (+) placed in the voting square after
the word "NO" in the manner hereinbefore provided shall be counted
against the adoption of the question.
SECTION 3: That the ballots to be used at said election shall
be, both as to form and matter contained therein, such as may be required
by law to be used thereat.
SECTION 4: That the City Clerk of said City is hereby authorized,
instructed and directed to procure and furnish any and all official
ballots, notices, printed matter and all supplies, equipment and paraphernalia
that may be necessary in order to properly and lawfully conduct said
election.
SECTION 5: That the polls for said election shall be open at
seven o'clock a.m. of the day of said election and shall remain open
continuously from said time until 8 o'clock p.m. of the same day when
said polls shall be closed, except as provided in Section 14301 of the
Elections Code of the State of California.

SECTION 6:' That in all particulars not recited in this Resolution,
said election shall be held and conducted as provided by law for holding
municipal elec~ions'in.said City.
SECTION 7: -That notice of the time and place of holding said
.election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby authorized, instructed
and directed to give such further or additional notice of said election,
~in. time, form .a~d manner'as required by law.
SECT:ION 8t That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage
and adoption of this Resolution; shall enter the same in the book of
original Resolutions of said City; and shall make a minute of passage
and adoptiom ~hereof in the records of the proceedings of the City
Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is
passed and ~dopted.
