A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, CALLING FOR A PUBLIC HEARING TO
DETERMINE WHETHER PUBLIC NECESSITY, HEALTH, SAFETY OR
WELFARE REQUIRES THE FORMATION OF AN UNDERGROUND UTILITY
DISTRICT ALONG ARCHIBALD AVENUE FROM CHURCH STREET TO
BASE LINE ROAD, AS MORE PARTICULARLY DESCRIBED IN THIS
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, it has been recommended that an undergrounding utility
district, hereinafter called District, be formed; and
WHEREAS, Rancho Cueamonga Municipal Code Section 13.04 establishes a
procedure for the creation of underground utility districts and requires as
the initial step in such procedure the holding of a public hearing to
ascertain whether public necessity, health, safety, or welfare requires the
removal of poles, overhead wires, and associated overhead structures and the
underground installation of wires and facilities for supplying electric,
communication, or similar associated service in any such district.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: That an underground utility district, be formed, in the
following described area.
Those portions of Parcel Map No. 793 as per plat recorded in Book 8 of Parcel
Maps, Pages 8, 9 and 10; Parcel Map No. 4365, as per plat recorded in Book 39
of Parcel Maps, Page 24; Portion of Cucamonga Fruitlands, as per plat recorded
in Book 4 of Maps, Page 9; Tract No. 8332, as per plat recorded in Book 111 of
Maps, Pages 1 and 2; Tract No. 5351, as per plat recorded in Book 100 of Maps,
Pages 32 and 33; Parcel Map No. 6651, as per plat recorded in Book 71 of
Parcel Maps, Pages 17 and 18; Parcel Map No. 4251, as per plat recorded in
Book 43 of Parcel Maps, Pages 61 and 62; Tract No. 9522, as per plat recorded
in Book 135 of Maps, Pages 69 and 70; Tract No. 7913, as pe~ plat recorded in
Book 102 of Maps, Pages 60 and 61; all records of the Coun~,y Recorder of San
Bernardino County, State of California, lying within a strip of land 120.00
feet wide, the centerline of which is described as follows:
Beginning at a point on the centerline of Archibald Avenue distant thereon
North 1 06' 08" West 160.00 feet from the intersection of the centerlines of
Base Line Road and Archibald Avenue as per the above said Parcel Map No. 793;
thence Southerly along said centerline of Archibald Avenue, a distance of
2,970.00+ feet to the intersection of the centerlines of Church Street and
said Archibald Avenue.
The sidelines of said 120.00 foot wide strip of land are parallel to and
measured at right angles from the above described centerline of Archibald
Avenue, and shall be prolonged or shortened so as to begin from a line
perpendicular to and passing through said Beginning Point on the centerline of
Archibald Avenue and terminate at said centerline of Church Street.
Section 2: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a public hearing will be held
by the City Council of the City of Raneho Cueamonga on May 16, 1984, at the
hour of 7:30 pm at the Lion's Park Community Center, 9161 Base Line Road,
Raneho Cucamonga, California to ascertain whether the public necessity,
health, safety, or welfare requires the removal of poles, overhead wires and
associated overhead structures and the underground installation of wires and
facilities for supplying electric, communication or similar associated service
in the District herein described.
Section 3: As such hearing all persons interested shall be given an
opportunity to be heard. Said hearing may be continued from time to time as
may be determined by the City Council.
Section 4: The City Clerk shall notify all affected property owners,
as shown on the last equalized assessment roll and utilities concerned of the
time and place of such hearing and by mailing a copy of this resolution to
such property owners and utilities concerned at least ten (10) days prior to
the date thereof.

Section 5: The area proposed to be included in the District is shown
upon that certain map entitled "Underground Utility District No. 2" which is
on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Rancho Cucamonga,
California.
