A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, REQUESTING THE BO~3d) OF
SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF SAN BERNARDINO TO
CONSOLIDATE A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, TO BE HELD ON NOVEMBER 6,
1984, WITH THE STATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON
NOVEMBER 6, 1984, PURSUANT TO SECTION 23302 OF THE
ELECTIONS CODE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California,
has called a special municipal election in the City of Rancho Cucamonga,
California, to be held on November 6, 1984, for the purpose of submitting to
the electors the questions of whether the electors shall thereafter elect a
Mayor and four City Councilmembers, and whether the Mayor shall serve a two
year or four year term; and
WHEREAS, it is desirable that said special municipal election be
consolidated with the statewide general election to be held on the same date
and that within the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California, the precincts,
polling places and election officers of the two elections be the same, and that
the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Bernardino canvass the returns of
the special municipal election and that said statewide general election and
special municipal election be held in all respects as if there were only one
election;
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga,
California, does hereby resolve, determine and order as follows:
SECTION 1: That pursuant to the requirements of Section 23302 of the
Elections Code, the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Bernardino be and
it is hereby requested to consent and agree to consolidation of a special
municipal election with the statewide general election on Tuesday, the sixth
(6th) day of November, 1984, for the purpose of submitting to the electors of
the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California, the following questions to appear on
the ballot as follows:

AND FOUR CITY COUNCILMEMBERS?

SHALL THE TERM OF OFFICE OF MAYOR
BE TWO YEARS?

NO
SHALL THE TERM OF OFFICE OF MAYOR
BE FOUR YEARS?
YES

SECTION 2: Said Board of Supervisors is hereby authorized to canvass
the returns of said special municipal election which it is hereby requested to
consolidate with said statewide general election and said election shall be
held in all respects as if there were only one (1) election, and only one (1)
form of ballot shall be used.
SECTION 3: Said Board of Supervisors is hereby requested to issue
instructions to County Clerk and/or the Registrar of Voters to take any and all
steps necessary for the holding of said consolidated election.
SECTION 4: The City of Rancho Cucamonga, California, recognizes that
additional costs will be incurrd by the County of San Bernardino by reason of
this consolidation and agrees to reimburse the County of San Berna~dino for any
such costs.

SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Rancho Cucamonga,
California, is hereby directed to file certified copies of the Resolution with
the Board of Supervisors, the County Clerk of the County of San Bernardino, and
the Registrar of Voters.
