A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAN(~{O
CUCA~DNGA, CALIFORNIA. DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER
THE ANNEXATION TO LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 1, AN
ASSESSMENT DISTRICT: DESIGNATING SAID ANNEXATION AS
ANNEXATION NO. 45 TO LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. 1;
PURSUANT TO THE LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTIN~ ACT OF 1972 AND
OFFERING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS THERETO
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Rancho Cucamonga. pursuant to the provisions of the Landscaping and Lighting
Act of 1972. being Division 15 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California, as follows:
SECTION 1. Description of Work: That the public interest and
convenience require and it is the intention of this City Council to form a
maintenance district in the City of Rancho Cucamonga for the maintenance and
operation of those par~m~ays and facilities thereon dedicated for common
greenbelt purposes by deed or recorded subdivision tract map within the
boundaries of the proposed maintenance district described in Section 2 hereof.
Said maintenance and operation includes the cost and supervision of any
sprinkler system, trees, grass, plantings, landscaping, ornamental lighting.
structures, and walls in connection with said parlays.
SECTION 2. Location of Work: The foregoing described work is to be
located within roadway right-of-way and landscaping easements of Landscape
Maintenance District No. ! enumerated in the report of the City Engineer and
more particularly described on maps which are on file in the office of the City
Clerk, entitled "Annexation No. 45 to Landscapa Maintenance District No. 1".
SECTION 3. Description of Assessment District: That the contemplated
work. in the opinion of said City Council. is of more than local or ordinary
public benefit, and the said City Council hereby makes the expense of the said
work chargeable upon a district, which said district is assessed to pay the
costs and expenses thereof, and which district is described as follows:
Ail that certain territory of the City of Rancho Oucamonga
included within the exterior boundary lines shown upon
that certain "Map· of Annexation No. 45 to Landscape
· Maintenance District No. 1" heretofore approved by the
City Council of said City by Resolution No. 88-233.
indicating by said boundary lines the extent of the
territory includad within the proposed assessment district
and which map is on f~le in the office of the City Clerk
of said City.

SECTION 4. Report of Engineer: The City Council of said City by
Resolution No. 88-233 has approved the report of the engineer of work which
report indicates the amount of the proposed assessment, the district boundary,
assessment zones, titled "Engineer' s Report, Annexation No. 45, Landscape
Maintenance District No. 1" is on f~le {n the off{ce of the City Clerk of said
City. Reference to said report is hereby made for all particulars for the
amount and extent of the assessments and for the extent of the work.
SECTION 5. Collect{on of Assessments: The assessment shall be
collected at the same time and {n the same manner as County taxes are
collected. The City Engineer shall f~le a report annually with the City
Council of said City and said Council w~ll annually conduct a hearing upon said
report at their first regular meeting in June, at which time assessments for
the next fiscal year w~ll be determined.
SECTION 6. Time and Place of Hearing: Notice {s hereby given that on
May 18, 1988, at the hour of 7=30 p.m. in the City Council Ch~,-bers at 9161
Base Line, {n the City of Rancho Cucamonga, any and all persons having any
object{OhS to the work or extent of the assessment district, may appear and
show cause why said work should not Be done or carried out or why said district
shottld not be formed in accordance with this Resolution of Intention. Protests
must be {n writing and must contain a description of the property {n which each
signer thereof {s interested, sufficient to identify the same, and must be
delivered to the City Clerk of said City prior to the time set for the hear{nE,
and no other protests or objections w[11 be cons{dared. If the signer of any
protest is not shown upen the last equalled assessment roll of San Bernard{no
County as the owner of the property described in the protests, then such
protest must contain or be accompanied by written evidence that such signer is
the .owner of the. property so described.
SECTION 7. Landscaping and Li~ht{n~ Act of 1972.' All the work herein
proposed shall -' be done and carried through {n pursuance of an act of the
legislature of the State of California designated the Landscaping and Lighting
Act of 1972, being Division 15 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
C~1 ifornia.
SECTION 8. Publication Of ~esolut{on of Intention: Published not{ce
shall be made pursuant to Sect{on 61961 of' the Gover~ent Code. The Mayor
shall sign this Resolution and the City Clerk shall attest to the same, and the
City ~lerk shall cause the same to be published 10 days before the date set for
the hearing, at least once in The Daily Report, a newspaper of general
circulation published in the City of Ontario, Cai{lorn{a, and circulated in the
City of Rancho Cucamonga, Cal{forn{a.
