A RESOLUTION OF THE CIT~ COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAN(~O
CUCA~DI~A, CALIFORNIA, ORDERII~ THE WORK IN CONNECTION
WITH ANNEXATION NO. 1 ? TO STREET LIGRTING MAINTENAN(~
DISTRICT NO. 6 AND ACC~PTII~ THE FINAL EI~INEER'S REPORT
FOR DR 87-41 AND CUP 87-42
~EREAS, the City Councll of the City of Rancho Cuca~onga did on the
15th day of June, 1988, adopt its Resolution of Intention No. 88-392 to order
the therein described work in connection with Annexation No. 17 to Street
Lighting Maintenance District No. 6, which Resolution of Intention No. 88-392
was duly and legally publlshed in the time, fora and manner as required by law,
shown by the Affidavi~ of Publication of said Resolutlon of Intention on file
in the office of the City Clerk; and
WHEREAS, after the adoption thereof, notice of the passage of said
Resolution of Intention, headed ~Notlce of Improvement~, was duly and legally
posted in the time, form, manner, location, and nmaber as required by law, as
appears frc~ the Affidavit of ?oaring said notices, on file in the office of
the City Clerk; and
~liEREAS. after the adoption thereof, notices of the adoption of the
Resolution of Intention were duly mailed to all persons owning real property
proposed to be assessed for the improvements described in said Resolution of
Intention No. 88-392, according to the names and addresses of such owners as
the same appears on the last mailln$ or as known to the City Clerk of the City
of Rancho Cucamonga, which said copies were duly mailed in the time, form, and
manner as required by law, as appears frc~ the Affidavit of Mailing on ft/e in
the office of the City Clerkl and
~EREAS, said City Council havin$, duly received considered evidence.

concerning the necessity for the contemplated work and the benefits to be
derived therefr~ and said City Council having now acquired jurisdiction to
order the proposed work.
SECTION 1~ It is hereby resolved by the City Council of the City of
Rancho Cucamonsa that the public interest and correenlence requires the
annexation to the District and the ordering of the work, and said City Council
hereby orders that the work, as set forth and described in said Resolution of
Intention No. 88-392, be done and madel and
SECTION 2~ The Report filed by the F. ngineer is hereby finally
approved; and

SECTION 3: The assessments and method of assessment in the Engineer's
Report are hereby approved.
~ECTtON 4~ The assessments shall not begin untll aEter 60 percent
of said tracts h~ve been occupied.

Engineer~s Report for
Street Lighting Maintenance District No. 6
Annexation No. 17 for
DR 87-41 and OJP 87-42
SECTION 1. Authorit[ for Report
This report is in compllance with the requirements of Article 4, Chapter 1,
Division 15 of the Streets and Iitshways Code, State of California (Landscaping
and Lighting Act of 1972).
SECTION 2. General Description
This City Council has elected to annex all new deyelopaents into Street
Lighting Maintenance District No. 6. The City Counc, il has .de, retained that the
street lights to be mslntained will have an effect upon all lots within said
develotments as well as on the lots directly abutting the street lights.
Work to be provided for with the assessments established by the district
are=
The furnishing of services and materials for the ordinary and usual
maintenance, operating and servicing of street light improvements on
local streets as shown on the Lighting District Atlas Hap which is on
file with the City Engineer. Improvement maintenance is considered of
general benefit to all areas in the District and cost shall be
assessed on a per unit basis.
SECTION 3. Plans and Specifications
The plans and specifications for street llghting have been prepared, by the
developers. The plans and street lishts are as stipulated in the conditions of
approval for the develotment and as approved by the City Engineering Division.
Reference is hereby made to the subject tract map or develol~aent plan and the
asses~aent diasram for the exact location of the street lighting areas. The
plans and specifications for- street lighting improvement on the indlvldual
develol~ent is hereby made a part of this report to the same extent as if said
plans and specifics were attached hereto.
Detailed maintenance activities on the street llghtlng district
includes the repair, removal or replacement of all or any part of any
improvement, providing for the 'illumination of the subject, area,
SECTION 4. Estimated Costs
No costs will be incurred for street lighting improvement construction.
All improvements will be constructed by developers. Based on available data,
it is estimated that maintenance costs for assessment purposes will be as
indicated below. These costs are estimated only, actual assessments will be
based on actual cost data.

Street Lighting Haintenance District No. 6 is comprised of all industrial,
commercial and institutional projects throughout the City. It has been
determined that one acre of land in industrial, commercial and institutional
areas derives the same benefit as two assesmuent units in residential zones.

diagras are hereby incorporated within the text of this report.
SECTION 6. Assessment
Improvements for the District are found to be of general benefit to
units within the District and that assesmaent shall be equal for each unit.

1. City Council adopts Resolution of Preliminary Approval of City En$ineer's
Report.
2. City Council adopts Resolution of Intention to annex a District and sets
public hearing date.
3. City Council conducts public hearing, considers all testt~ony and
deteraines to fo~ a District o~ abandon the proceedings.
4. Every year in Hay, the City ~.ngineer files a report vlth the City Council.
5. Every year in June, tbs City Council conducts, a public hearing and
approves, or modifies and approves the individual assessments.
