A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANQ;O
~JCA~DNGA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO ORDER

6, AN ASSESSNENT DISTRICT: DESIGNATING SAID ANNEXATION AS
ANNEXATION NO. 18 TO STREET LIGHTING M~INTENAN(~ DISTRICT
NO. 6; PDRSUANT TO THE LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTING ACT OF
1972 AND OFI~RING A TI~ AND PLA~ FOR HF~RING OBJECTIONS
THERETO
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Rancho Cucamonga, pursuant to tbs provisions of the Landscaping and Lighting
Act of 1972, being Division 15 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California, as follows:
SECTION 1. Description of Work: That the public interest and
convenience require and it is the intention of this City Council to form 'a
maintenance district in the City of Rancho Cucamonga for the maintenance an-d
operation of those street lights the boundaries of the proposed maintenance
district described in Section 2 hereof. Said maintenance and operation
includes tbs cost and supervision of any. lighting and related facilities in
connection with said district.
SECTION 2. Location of Work: The foregoing described work is to be
located within roadway right-of-way enumerated in tbs report of the City
Engineer and more particularly described on maps which are on file in the
office of the City Clerk, entitled "Annexation No. 18 to Street Lighting
Maintenance District No. 6".
SECTION 3. Description of Assessment District: That the contemplated
work, in tbs opinion of said City Council, is of more than local or ordinary
public benefit, and the said City Council hereby makes tbs expense of the said
work chargeable upon a district, which~said district is assessed~to pay the
costs and expenses thereof, and which district is described as follows:
All that certain territory of the City of Rancho Oucamonga
included within the exterior boundary lines shown upon
that certain "Map of Annexation No. 18 to Street Lighting
Maintenance District No. 6" maps is on fLle in the office
of the City Clerk of said City.
SECTION 4. Report of Engineer: The City Council of said City by
Resolution No. 88-444 bas approved tbs report of the engineer of work which
report indicates the amount of the proposed assessment, the district boundary,
assessment zones, titled "Engineer' s Report, Street Lighting Maintenance
District No. 6" is on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City.

Reference to said report is hereby made for all particulars for the amount and
extent of the assessments and for the extent of the work.
SECTION 5. Collection of Assessments= The assessment shall be
collected at the same time and in the same manner as Count~ taxes are
collected. The City Engineer shaI1 file a report annually with the City
Council of said City and said Council will annually conduct a hearing upon said
report at their first regular meeting in June, at which time assessments for
the next fiscal year will be determined.
SECTION 6. Time and Place of HearinK: Notice is hereby given that on
August 3, 1988, at the hour of 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at 9161
Base Line Road, in the City of Rancho Cucamonga, any and all persons having any
objections to the work or extent of the assessment district, may appear and
show cause why said work should not be done or carried out or why said district
should not be formed in accordance with this Resolution of Intention. Protests
must be in writing and must contain a description of the proper~y in which each
signer thereof is interested, sufficient to identify the same, and must be
dellvered to the City Clerk of said City prior to the time set for the hearing,
and no other protests or objections will be considered. If the signer of any
protest is not shown upon the last equalized assessment roll of San Bernardino
County as the owner of the property described in the protests, then such
protest must contain or be accompanied by written evidence that such signer ia
the owner of the property so described.
SECTION 7. Landscaping and Lightfn.~ Act of 1972: All the work herein
proposed shall be done and carried through in pursuance of an act of the
legislature of the State of California designated the Landscaping and Lighttn8
Act of 1972, being Division 15 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California.
SECTION 8. Publication of Resolution of Intention: Published notice
shall be made pursuant to Section 61961 of the Government Code. The Mayor
shall sign this Resolution and the City Clerk shall attest to the same, and the
City Clerk shall cause the same to be published 10 days before the date set for
the hearing, at least' once in The. Dail~ Report, a newspaper of general
circulation published in the City of Ontario, California, and circulated in the
City of Rancho Cucamonga, California.
