HomeMy WebLinkAbout78-74 - ResolutionsRESOLUTION NO. 78-74 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY TO RECONSTRUCT BASELINE STREET FROM ARCHIBALD AVENUE TO HELLMAN AVENUE. WHEREAS, the project for widening and reconstruction of Baseline Street from Archibald Avenue to Hellman Avenue was included in the San Bernardino County Road Budget at the time of incorporation of the City of Rancho Cucamonga; and WHEREAS, tbe City and County have agreed that the project should be completed by the County in the same manner as originally planned; and WHEREAS, State Law provides for the acceptance of City streets into the County Road System for purposes of construction (to comply with require- ments that County Road funds be spent solely on the County Road System); and WHEREAS, upon completion of the construction it will be appropriate for the City to resume all maintenance responsibility. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga requests the County to arrange for and administer the widening and reconstruction of Baseline Street and related facilities between Hellman Avenue and Archibald Avenue. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Council consents to designation of Baseline Street from 600 feet west of Hellman Avenue to the centerline Archibald Avenue and Hellman Avenue 300 feet north and 300 feet south of the intersection of Baseline and Hellman Avenue as County Roads from the date of award of a contract to acceptance of the contract as complete; and BE IT ALSO RESOLVED that upon acceptance of the contract as complete by the Co~nty Board of Supervisors, Baseline Street and Hellman Avenue shall automatically revert to City street status and all maintenance responsibility assumed by the County during the constn~ction period shall become the responsibility of the City.
