A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING 'DESIGNATION'. OF THE~
HIPPARD RANCHO LOCATED AT 13181 VICTORIA STREET AS~ A '
LANDMARK
WHEREAS, the Historic Preservation Commission has held a duly
advertised public hearing to consider all comments on the proposed Landmark
Designation and issued Resolution. No.. 89-02 recommending to this City Council
that said Landmark Designation be approved.
WHEREAS, the City Council has received and reviewed all input from
the Historic Preservation Commission regarding said Landmark Designation.
WHEREAS, all legal prerequisites to the adoption of this Resolution
have occurred.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of RanchoJCucamonga does
hereby specifically find, determine and resolve as follows:
SECTION 1: The application applies to the northerly 5 acres of the
property located at Assessor Parcel Number 227-121-22.
SECTION 2: The proposed landmark meets the following criteria
established in Chapter 2.24.090 of the Rancho Cucamonga Municipal Code:
A. Historical and cultural Significance:
1. The proposed landmark is particularly
representative of an historical period, type,
style, region, and way of life. '
2. The proposed landmark was connected with a
local personalit-y. .
. 3. The proposed landmark ~ii connected with a
" business or use which was once common but is
now rare.
4.. The architect was important.
B. Historic Architectural and Engineering Significance:
1 The construction materials and engineering
. . method.s used in the proposed landmark are
unusual.
2. The overall effect of the design of the
proposed landmark is beautiful, and its details
and materials are beautiful and unusual.
C. Neighborhood and Geographic Setting.

1. The proposed landmark materially benefits the
historic character of the neighborhood.
SECTION 3: Designati'on of a landmark is exempt from CEQA (Article
19, Section 15308). .
SECTION 4: Based on the substantial evidence received and reviewed
by this Council and based on the findings set forth above.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of ~he City of Rancho Cucamonga'does
hereby resolve and approve designation of The Hipp~rd Ranch.as a landmark.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 17th dQy of May, 1989.
