A RESOLUTIC8 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMCNGA, CALIFO~I~IA, AUTHORIZING THE DESTRUCTIC8 OF CITY
RECORDS AND DOCUNENTS WNICN ARE NO LONGER REQUIRED AS
PROVIDED UNDER GOFERNHENT CODE SECTION 34090
WHEREAS, it has been determined that destruction of certain City
records under the charge of the Administrative Services Department are no
longer required for public or private purposes.
WHEREAS, it has been determined that destruction of the
above-mentioned materials is necessary to conserve storage space, an reduce
staff time, expense, and confusion in handling, and informing the public; and
WBEREAS, Section 34090 of tbe Government Code of the State of
California autborizes the head of a City department to destroy any City records
and documents which are over two years old under his or her charge, witbout
making a copy thereof, after the same are no longer required, upon the approval
of the City Council by resolution and the written consent of the City Attorney;
and
WHEREAS, it is therefore desirable to destroy said records as listed
in Exhibit '~" attached hereto and made a part hereof, in storage, without
making a col~y thereof, which are over ~wo years old; and
WHEREAS, said records have been approved for destruction by the City
Attorney.
N0~, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL 0F THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMQaCA DOES
RESOLVE AS FOLLOWS:
SECTlOW 1: That approval and authorization is hereby given to destroy
those records described as Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part bereof.
SECTI88 2: That the City Clerk is authorized to allo~ examination by
and donation to the Department of Special Collections of the University
Research Library, University of California, or other historical society
designated by the Cit7 Council, any of the records described in Exhibit "A"
attached hereto and made a part hereof, except those deemed to be confidential.
SECTION 3: That the City Clerk shall certify to tbe adoption of this
resolution, and thenceforth and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 16th day of July, 198~.

approverig and adopted by the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga,
California, at a regular meeting of said City Council held on the 16th day of
July, 1986.
