HomeMy WebLinkAbout87-A - Ordinances ORDINANCE NO. 87-A AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTIONS 2.28.040 AND 2.28.070 OF THE RANCHO CUCAMONGA MUNICIPAL CODE RELATIVE TO TERMS OF APPOINTMENT OF ADVISORY COMMISSION MEMBERS AND OFFICERS. The City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga does ordain as follows: SECTION ~: Section 2.28.040 of the Rancho Cucamonga Municipal Co~ is hereby amended to read as follows: "Sec. 2.28.040. Membership--Terms of Appointment. "All terms shall be for two (2) years. If a vacancy shall occur, other than by expiration of term of office, it shall be filled by appointment by the Mayor with the approval of the council for the unexpired term. Any member appointed to a four (4) year term prior to the ~983 amendment to this section may serve out the remainder of such four (4) year term." SECTION 2: Section 2.28.070 of the Rancho Cucamonga Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "Sec. 2.28.070. Officers. "A. The Advisory Commission shall select a chairperson to preside at all meetings of the commission. The term of the chairperson shall be one (1) year, commencing on January 1 of each year. The chairperson may be removed by majority vote of the entire Advisory Commission, taken at any regular meeting thereof. In the event a chairperson is removed prior to the expiration of his or her term, the Advisory Commission shall forthwith appoint a successor to serve the balance of the unexpired term." SECTION 3: The Mayor shall sign this Ordinance and the City Clerk shall attest to the same, and the City Clerk shall cause the same to be published within fifteen (15) days after its passage, at least once in The Daily Report, a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Ontario, California, and circulated in the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California.
