HomeMy WebLinkAbout70-D - Ordinances ORDINANCE NO. 70-D AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA AMENDING SUBSECTIONS (c) AND (D) OF SECTION l0 OF ORDINANCE NO. 70, CREATING AN HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION TO ACT IN ADVISORY CAPACITY TO THE CITY COUNCIL IN THE IDENTIFICATION AND PRESERVATION OF HISTORICAL OBJECTS, EVENTS, STRUCTURES AND SITES AND TO IDENTIFY PERSONS OF HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE TO THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA The City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California, does hereby ordain as follows: SECTION 1: Subsection (c) of Section 10 of Ordinance No. 70, of the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California, is hereby amended to read: (c) The application shall be referred to the Historic Preservation Cormnission. The Historic Preservation Commission shall hold a public hearing. The Historic Preservation Commission shall recommend approval, modified approval or disapproval of the application. SECTION 2: Subsection (d) of Section 10 of Ordinance 70 of the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California, is hereby amended to read: (d) In the event the Historic Preservation Commission recommends approval or modified approval of an application, the application and the report and recommendations of the Historic Preservation Commission shall be forwarded to the City Council which shall hold a public hearing on the application, following which the City Council may approve, modify and approve, or deny the proposed designation. Approval or modification and approval, of the designation shall be upon adoption of an ordinance. In the event the Historic Preservation Commission recommends disapproval of an application, no further action need be taken thereon unless a notice of appeal is filed with the City Clerk within 10 days following the action of the Historic Preservation Commission. SECTION 3: The Mayor shall sign this Ordinance and the City Clerk shall attest to the same, and the City Clerk shall cause the same to be published within fifteen (15) days after its passage, at least once in The Daily Report, a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City of Ontario, California, and circulated in the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California.
