HomeMy WebLinkAbout66-A - Ordinances ORDINANCE NO. 66-A AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 66 PERTAINING TO THE INELIGIBILITY OF CERTAIN PERSONS FOR EMPLOYMENT BY THE CITY. The City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California does ordain as follows: SECTION 1: Section 1 of Ordinance No. 66 of the City is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 1: No person convicted (including pleas of guilty and nolo contendre) of a felony or a misdemeanor involving moral turpitude shall be eligible for employment by any department of the City; provided, however, the appointing authority shall disregard such conviction if it is found and determined by such appointing authority that mitigating circumstances exist, such as, but not limited to, evidence of rehabilitation, the length of time elapsed since such conviction, the age of such person at the time of the conviction, or the fact that the classification applied for is unrelated to such conviction.". SECTION 2: The Mayor shall sign this Ordinance and the City Clerk shall cause the same to be published within fifteen (15) days after its passage at least once in The Daily Report, a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Ontario, California, and circulated in the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California.
