AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, EXTENDING THE
EXPIRATION DATE OF THE MORATORIUM IMi~OSED BY
ORDINANCE NO. 36, EXEMPTING MULTIPLE FAMILY
MEDIUM AND HIGH DENSITY APARTMENT DEVELOPMENTS
THEREFROM, AND DECLARING THE URGENCY THEREOF.
The City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga,
California, does ordain as follows:
Section 1: The City Council hereby finds that:
(a) Further time is needed for the study and preparation
of a comprehensive growth management program for the City;
(b) The expiration of Ordinance No. 36 by its terms
on December 31, 1978 will not be in the best interests of the City and said
expiration date should be extended as hereinafter provided;
(c) That Ordinance No. 36 should be modified to exclude
multiple medium and high density apartment developments from the operation of
the moratorium imposed thereby.
Section 2: Section 7 of Ordinance No. 36 of the City of
Rancho Cucamonga, California is hereby amended by adding Subsection (d) and
(e) thereto to read as follows:
"(d) Multiple family medium and high density apartment
developments~"
"(e) Residential development on lots created by parcel
maps presently on file."
Section 3: Section 8 of Ordinance No. 36 of the City
of Rancho Cucamonga is hereby amended to read as follows:
"Section 8: This moratorium shall ex~ire on March 9, 1979."
Section 4: This Ordinance is hereby declared an urgency
measure necessary for the innnediate protection and preservation of the public
peace, health, safety, and welfare and shall take effective immediately upon its
adoption.
Section 5: The Mayor shall sign this ordinance and the
City Clerk shall attest to the same, and the City Clerk shall cause the same
to be published within fifteen (15) days after its passage, at least once in
The Daily Report, a newpaper in general circulation, published and circulated
in the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of December,
1978.
