AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, PERMITTING THE DISCHARGE OF SAFE
AND SANE FIREWORKS, AND DECLARING THE URGENCY THEREOF.
The City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga, California,
does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1: Except as provided in Section 2 of this ordinance,
safe and sane fireworks may be discharged in the City.
SECTION 2: Safe and sane fireworks shall not be discharged
in the City
(a) Except during the period of 12:00 o"clock noon on the
28th of June through 12:00 o'clock noon on the 6th of July of the
same calendar year;
(b) If a fire nuisance would result from such discharge;
(c) Upon public property, including public streets and
highways or;
(d) Upon private property, except by, or with the consent
of, the owner or tenants lawfully in possession thereof.
SECTION 3: Any person discharging safe and sane fireworks
in the City, except as permitted by this ordinance, is guilty of
a misdemeanor.
SECTION 4: Ail words and phrases used in this ordinance
which are defined in the State fireworks law shall have the same
meaning as in said law.
SECTION 5: This ordinance is hereby declared an urgency
measure necessary for the immediate protection and preservation
of the public peace, health, safety and welfare and shall take
effect immediately upon its adoption.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 17th day of May 1978.
