A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, CHANGING THE NAME OF TURNER AVENUE
WHEREAS, it has been found that a certain street name has been used,
which conflicts with a street name that is in the same alignment; and
WHEREAS, emergency services personnel need to be able to determine
street locations without hesitation.
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 144 states that streets that are continuous
shall be extended in accordance with the present street names wherever possible
and feasible.
WHEREAS, the proposed name "Hermosa" has historical significance in
that it is the same name as one of the first tracts in the Alta Loma area.
WHEREAS, the proposed change would not create significant adverse
impacts on the environment.
WHEREAS, the proposed change is consistent with the goals, policies
and standards of the General Plan.
WHEREAS, the proposed change is consistent with the adopted
Circulation Element.
WHEREAS, the street name change is deemed necessary in order to
protect the public health, safety, comfort, convenience and general welfare.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City of
Rancho Cucamonga does hereby designate Turner Avenue which runs for
approximately 3 miles from Base Line Road south to 4th Street, to be henceforth
knc~n as Hermosa Avenue, effective 1 year from the date of this action.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Clerk be directed to forward a
copy of this Resolution to the Board of Supervisors, County of San Bernardino,
as set forth in Section 34092 of the Government Code. of the State of
Cal ifornia.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 1st day of April, 1987.
