T~EREAS, the City Oouncil desires to sukmit to the electors of the
City the questica~ of whether the Mayo~- s~a]l serve a four year term; and
D~REAS, the ~,~-~ic~ of said que~Lion to the electors at a special
electic~9 held for that purpose is authorized by GovexL~'~ O0de 34900.
NO~, ~Hm~RE, the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga does
hereby resolve, declare, ~ and or,er as follows:
SBCrIC~ 1: That pursuant to the reguire~e0~ts of the laws of the
State of California relating to general law cities within said State, there
sb~]l be, ar~ there is hereby called and o~dered to be held in the City of
Pancho Cucamonga, County of San Bernardino, State of California, on Tuesday,
the third (3rd) day of November, 1992, a special municipal election for the
purpose of su~ait~ the following question to the electors of the City of
Rancho Cucamonga, California, to wit:

SBCTI~ 2: ~hat the special municipal election hereby called for the
date hereinabove specified shall be and is h~reby ordered consolidated with
the statewide general election to be held on said date, and within said city
the precincts, polling plaoes and officers of election for the special
municipal election hereby cited shall be the ~ as thoee provided for said
statewide general election. Toe Board of Superv~ of San BexnarUino County
is hereby requested to order the consolidation of the special municipal
election hereby called with said statewide general election, and said Board of
Supervisors is hereby authorized to canvass the returns of said special
municipal election and said election shall be held in all respects as if there
w~re only one (1) election, and c~uly c~e (1) form of ballot, namely, the
ballots used in said general election, shall be used. Said Board of
Supervisors sh~]l certify the results of the canvass of the returns of said
special ~cipal election to the City Council of said city which shall

S~CTI~ $: ~hat the polls for said election shall be opened at
7:00 A.M. on the day of said election ar~ shall r~ open c0~ly frc~
said time until 8:00 P.M. of the ~ day when said polls shall be closed,
exDegt as provided in Section 14436 of the Elections COde of the State of
California o
said elections shall be held and conducted as provided by law for holding
municipal elections in said city.
S~CTION 5: ~at notice of the time and place of hold/rig said
election is hereby given and the City Clerk is hereby authorized, instructed
and directed to give such further or additional notice of said election in
S~CTIC~ 6: ~at the Board of Su~xvlsors is ~reby r~A~ced to
issue instructions to the Registrar of Voters to take any and all steps
necessary for the holding of said consolidated election.

costs will be inourred by the Oounty by rea~ of tb~ o0~solidation and
SECTI(~ 8: That the City Clerk of the City of Rancho ~ is
hereby directed to file a certified copy of this Resolution with the Board of
Supervisors and the ~s~istrar of Voters of the County of San Bernardi~o.
