DIglI~ICT'S ROLE AS THE PRIMARY I~qDVID~/~ ~ER
IN D~3VERING ~ M~DICAL CARE WITHIN THE CITY OF
~EAS, prehospital emergency medical care is a major service
provided by the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District; and
WHEREAS, Fire District personnel are considered the primary
providers/first re~mx~s to emergency situatioms involving the protection of
life and property, it is imperative that local control of the delivery of
emergency medical care be mintained within our jurisdiction; ar~
WHEREAS, all agencies (public and private) who p~ovide, in whole or
delivering these essential services in the ~ of our citizens' health,
WHEREAS, it is the City Council's belief that the public trust in
officials.
NOW, ~{~EF-~RE, the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga does
hereby resolve to urge County and local public officials to recognize the
i~ of a w~ll organized, cooperative and efficient emerg~ medical
service delivery symtem and ~ support the fire service's role in
providing prehospital emmrg~ care as primary providers/first'responders to
incident~ involving the public's health, safety and welfare.
