A EESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF R/d~CHO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, DECLARING ITS INTENTION TO OEDEE THE
A~iNEXATION TO STREET LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT NO. i,
AN ASSESSMENT DISTRICT: DESIGNATING SAID ANNEXATION AS
ANNEXATION NO. 19 TO STREET LIGHTING MAINTENANCE DISTRICT
NO. 1; PURSUANT TO THE LANDSCAPING AND LIGHTING ACT OF 1972
AND OFFEEING A TIME AND PLACE FOR HEARING OBJECTIONS
NO~, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of
Rancho Cucamonga, pursuant to the provisions of the Landscaping and Light£ng
Act of 1972, being Division 15 of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of
California, as follows:
SECTION 1. Descrintion of Work: That the public interest and
convenience require and it is the intention of this City Council to form'a
maintenance district in the City of Rancho Cucamonga for the maintenance and
operation of those street lights the boundaries of the proposed maintenance
district described in Section 2 hereof. Said maintenance and operation
includes the cost and supervision of any lighting and related facilities in
connection with said district.
SECTION 2. Location of Work: The fore$oin$ described work is to he
located within roadway right-of-way enumerated in the report of the City
Engineer and more particularly described on maps which are on file {n the
office of the City Clerk, entitled "Annexation No. 19 to Street Lighting
Maintenance District No. 1".
SECTION 3. Descr£ptiDn of Assessment District: That the
contemplated work, in the opinion of said City Council, is of more than local
or ordinary public benefit, and the said City Council hereby makes the expense
of the said work chargeable upon a district, which said district is assessed to
pay the costs and expenses thereof, and which district is described as follows:
All that certain territory of the City of Rancho Cucamonga
included within the exterior boundary lines shown upon that
certain 'Map of Annexation No. 19 to Street Lighting
Maintenance District No. I" maps is on file in the office
of the City Clerk of said City.
SECTION &. RePort of Eniin~er: The City Council of said City by
Resolution No. 87-082 has approved the report of the engineer of work which
report indicates the amount of the proposed assessment, the district boundary,
assessment zones, titled '~ngineer's Report, Street Lighting Maintenance
District No. 1" is on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City,
Reference to said report is hereby made for all particulars for the amount and
extent of the assessments and for the extent of the work.
SECTION }. Collection of Assessments: The assessment shall be
collected at the same time and in the same manner as County taxes are
collected. The City Engineer shall file a report annually with the City
Council of said City and said Council will annually conduct a hearing upon said
report at their first regular meeting in June, st which time assessments for
the next fiscal year will be determined.
SECTION 6. Time and Place of Hearine: Notice is hereby given that
on March 18, 1987, at the hour of 7:30 pm in the City Council Chambers at 9161
Base Line, in the City of Rancho Cucamonga, any and all persons having any
objections to the work or extent of the assessment district, may appear and
show cause why said work should not be done or carried out or why said district
should not be formed in accordance with this Resolution of Intention. Protests
must be in writing and must contain a description of the property in which each
signer thereof is interested, sufficient to identify the same, and must be

delivered to tbe_~ity Clerk of maid City prior to the time met for tbs hearing,
and no other protemtm or objectionm will be conmidered. If tbs migner of any

protemt must contain or be acc~apanied by written evidence that much magnet im

SECTI0~ 7. Landscaoius and Lighting A~ of 1977: All the work
herein proposed shall be done and carried through in purmuance of an act of the
legimlature of the State of California demignated the Landscaping and Lighting
Act of 1972, being Division 15 of the Streets and High~aym Code of the State of
California.
SECTIO~ 8. Publication of Remolutian of Inten~i~,: Published notice
shall be made purmuant to Section 61961 of the Government Code. The l~ayor
shall sign this Resolution and the City Clerk shall attest to the mama, and the
City Clerk shall cause the mama to be published 10 days before the date set for
the hearing, at least once in The Daily Repgtt, a neespaper of general
circulation published in the City of Ontario, California, and circulated in the
City of Rancho Cucamonga, California.
