A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY ~ OF q~E CITY OF RANCHO

~REAS, the people of the State of California have enacted Assembly
Bill 1220 (Eastin, 1993) that grants to local g~ to establish and
implement waste diversic~ and separation ~ograms to prevent dispoeal of
household hazardous waste, including household hazardous waste, in solid wz~te
landfills; and
WH~Y~%S, the California Integrated Waste Management Board (Board) b~-~
been delegated the responsibility f~r the administration of the program within
the State, setting up ~a~y procedures governing application by cities and
WHEREAS, said procedures es~mblished by the California
Waste Management Board re~re the applicant to certify by resolution the
approval of application before suhnission of said application to the state;
WHEREAS, the applicant will enter into an agreement with the State of
California for the development of the project;
NC~, THerEFORE, ~HE CITY ODUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO (~3CA~DNGA,
HER~Y RESOLVES and authorizes the suhnittal of an application for the
California Integrated Waste Management Board for a Household Hazardous Waste
Discretionary Grant. ~ne City Engineer of the city of Rancho O,camonga is
hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the name of the City of Rancho
Cucamonga all necessary applications, cc~tracts, agreements, amendments hereto
for the purpose of securing grant funds and to implement and carry out the
purposes specified in the grant application.
