A RESOLUTION OF ~HE CITY G0t~CIL OF ~HE CITY OF

~EAS, the City of Rancho O~w~3a has cc~t~ly
support f~r the development of the Route 30 Foothill F~ay through its
aduptsd General Plan and applicable Specific Plans; and
~{~AEAS, the City traffic circulatic~ system was designed to fully
utilize the efficiency of and is ___.~nt o~ the Route 30 Freeway; and
~REAS, the City of Rancho O~mo~ga previously in a letter dated
September 12, 1991 detailed its co~cerns relative to envi~-~--~ental
oonsi__derations includir~ the aesthetics of the ultimate freeway design; and
~{EREAS, the City of Rancho O~amnnga has h~corically
policies that are designed to protect and improve the scenic quality of the
City through its General Plan, Specific Plan, and has maintained the highest
standard of design f~r public and private projects; and
WHEREAS, a below grade freeway would be the least visually obtrusive
and socially divisive alternative and would not only be consistent with the
goals and objectives of the City's General Plan, but would also further the~;
WHEREAS, the City Oouncil of the City of Rancho Cu~ hereby
officially declares its desire, intent, and policy to support the design of a
belowgrade freeway along theentireRand~Cucamonga corridor.
