A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA AMENDING
RESOLUTION NO. 94-091 TO ESTABLISH A FEE TO
RECOVER COSTS INCURRED WHEN STORING OR
IMPOUNDING VEHICLES
A. Recitals.
(i) The Government Code requires that prior to levying a new fee or increasing
an existing fee or service charge, local agencies shall hold a public meeting at which oral or written
presentation may be made; and
and
(ii)
(iii)
Notice of the time and place of the hearing has been properly provided;
No valid request for mailed notice is on file with the City; and
(iv) Copies of the required data were made available in the City Clerk's office to
the public on October 7, 1994; and
(v) All legal prerequisites to adoption of this Resolution have occurred.
B. Resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga does hereby
resolve that the following fee is established:
Section 9.0 - Rancho Cucamonga Sheriff Department Fees
Costs associated with towing and releasing
stored or impounded vehicles*
$75.00
*A release fee would be charged the owner of a vehicle that was stored or impounded under the
following circumstances:
1. Vehicle has been abandoned
Vehicle had been found on the street and not registered for more
than one year
3. Vehicle is creating a hazard

Vehicle is blocking a driveway and there was no other immediate
remedy available
Vehicle is being operated by an unlicensed driver
There are more than five outstanding parking tickets against the vehicle
The owner/operator was arrested and it was not practical to legally park and lock
the vehicle.
EXCEPTIONS
Release fees would not be charged to:
Vehicles whose owners/drivers are crime victims, and their vehicles are towed for
evidentiary reasons;
The owners/drivers of vehicles involved in non-criminal traffic collisions; and
When the vehicle is stored at the owners/drivers' request.

Effective Date:
This Resolution shall become effective with its adoption.
