A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OOUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCJLMONGA AUTHORIZING SUbMITtAL OF T~E HOUS~}{OLD
HAZARDOUS ~STE GRANT APPLICATION TO THE CALIFORNIA
WHerEAS, The City of Rancho Cucamonga recognizes that it is in the
public interest to enact and implement an integrated waste management plan to
address the State' s d'Lminishing landfill space and potential adverse
environmental impacts from landfilling; and
WHEREAS, funds have been established by Assembly Bill 2448 (Eastin,
1987), and are available from the Solid Waste Disposal Site Cleanup and
Maintenance Board for grants to local government for waste diversion and
separation programs to prevent the disposal of hazardous waste, including
household hazardous waste, in solid waste landfills.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga does
hereby resolvethat effective February 17, 1993:
Section 1: The Household Hazardous Waste Grant application is
authorized for submittal to the California Integrated WasteManagement Board.
Section 2: The City Manager of the City of Rancho Cucamonga is
hereby authorized and empowered to execute all necessary applications,
contracts, and agreements and amendments hereto for the purposes of securing
grant funds and to implement and carry out the purposes specified in this
application.
