This is the time and place for the general public to address the City Council. State law prohibits the
Council from addressing any issue not previously included on the agenda. The Council may receive
testimony and set the matter for a subsequent meeting. Comments are to be limited to five minutes
per individual.

SUBJECT: CONSIDERATION TO APPROVE THE CITY COUNCIL'S
PLANNING/HISTORIC PRESERVATION COMMISSION
SUBCOMMITTEE'S RECOMMENDATION REGARDING
THE APPLICANTS
RECOMMENDATION
The City Council approve the Subcommittee's recommendation to interview 11
applicants for the 2 vacancies on the Planning/Historic Preservation Commission.
Background
The City Council at its August 17, 1998 meeting directed the City Council's
Planning/Historic Preservation Commission Subcommittee to review the applications and
make a recommendation to the City Council regarding which applicants should be
interviewed.
The Subcommittee met on September 3, 1998, reviewed the applications and
recommended a "short list" of 11 applicants be interviewed. Those 11 applicants are as
follows:
Vince Elefante
Rucha Gupta
John Mannerino
Mike Mitchell
Jeff Sceranka
Paul Short
Pam Steward
Ede Swistock
Eric Vail
Pam Wright
Steve Wysocki
Following the Subcommittee's meeting on September 3, 1998, Paul Short advised Staff
he had been assigned a new work project and respectfully asked that his application be
removed at this time.
