A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANGtO
CU CAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, OPPOSING THE METROPOLITAN WATER
DISTRICT'S PROPOSED POWER PLANT
WHEREAS, The Metropolitan Water District has proposed an inter-
connection pipeline in conjunction with its project entitled "Enlargement of
the East Branch of the Governor Edmund G. Brown California Aqueduct"l and
WHEREAS, as part of the proposed interconnection pipeline portion of
the project, the Metropolitan Water District considers to construct a hydro-
electric power plant at Hickory Avenue and Foothill Boulevard within the City
of Rancho Cucamonga~ and
WHEREAS, staff has reviewed the proposed project and has found that it
would have an adverse impact on the City.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council concurs with
staff and opposes said interconnection pipeline and powerplant as proposed and
authorizes the Mayor to submit written opposition to the Metropolitan Water
District.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOFrED this 2nd day of September, 1987.
