HomeMy WebLinkAbout04-219 - Resolutions RESOLUTION NO. 04-219 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING GRANT APPLICATION FOR THE REGIONAL TRANSPORTATION ENHANCEMENT ACTIVITIES (TEA) PROGRAM FUNDING FOR THE PACIFIC ELECTRIC INLAND EMPIRE TRAIL PROJECT WHEREAS, the Transportation Enhancement Activities (TEA) provides funding to local agencies for transportation projects; and WHEREAS, the San Bernardino Associated Governments (SANBAG) is the agency responsible for allocating TEA funding in San Bernardino County; and WHEREAS, as the responsible agency, SANBAG, in conjunction with Caltrans TEA program staff, will award TEA funding to projects in the Valley region of San Bernardino County based on criteria established by its Board; and WHEREAS, the Pacific Electric Inland Empire Trail achieves regional goals to reduce traffic congestion by providing an alternative form of transportation; hence, was identified as a highest priority project in the San Bernardino County Non-Motorized Transportation Plan 2001 Update. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, that it confirms (1) the project submitted by Rancho Cucamonga for TEA funding; and (2) its commitment to local agency participation as specified in the application, and (3) its commitment to ongoing maintenance if project is selected.
