A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCh0
G3CAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, APPROVING A REQUEST TO AMEND THE
LAND USE MAP OF THE GENERAL PLAN, GPA 87-04C, FROM FLOOD
CONTROL AND FUTdRE HIGH SCHOOL SITE TO Lg~-MEDIUM
RESIDENTIAL ( 4-8 DWELLING UNITS PER ACRE) FOR
APFROXIMATELY 63.7 ACRES OF LAND LOCATED ON THE SOUT}FWEST
CORNER OF MILLIKEN AVENUE AND BANYAN STREET, RANC~O
CUCAMONGA, AND MAKE FINDINGS IN SUPPORT THEREOF
A. Recitals.
(i) Ahmanson Development has f~led an application for the General
Plan Amendment No. 87-O4C as described in the title of this Resolution.
Hereinafter in this Resolution, the subj act General plan Amendment request is
referred to as "the application".
(ii) On September 23, 1987, the planning Commission of the City of
Rancho Cucamonga conducted a duly noticed public hearing on the application,
and issued Resolution No. 87-171 recommending to the City Council that said
app1 ication be approved.
(iii) On October 21, 1987, the City Council of the City of Rancho
Cucamonga conducted a duly noticed public hearing on the application and
concluded said hearing on that date.
(iv) All legal prerequisites to the adoption of this Resolution have
occurred.
B. Re sol ut ion.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY FOUND, DETERMINED AND RESOLVED by the
City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga as follows:
1. The City Council hereby specifically finds that all of the facts
set forth in the Recitals, Part A, of this Resolution are true and
correct.
2. Based upon substantial evidence presented to the City Council
during the above-referenced public hearing on October 21. 1987,
including written and oral staff reports, together with public
testimony, this City Council hereby specifically finds as follows:

(a) The application applies to the approximate 63.7 acres of
land basically rectangular in configuration, located at the
southwest corner of Milliken Avenue and Banyan Street. Said
property is currently designated as Flood Control and future high
school site on the Land Use Map of the General Plan and is
presently vacant, unimproved land; and
(b) The property to the north of the subject site is designated
Flood Control on the Land Use Map of the General Plan and is
presently vacant, unimproved land; the property to the south of
the subject site is designated Medium-High Residential (14-24
dwelling units per acre) and Neighborhood Commercial on the Land
Use Map of the General Plan and consists of Single Family
Residential and vacant, unimproved land; the property to the east
is designated Low Residential (2-4 dwelling units per acre) on
the Land Use Map of the General Plan and consists of Single
Family Residential ( Caryn Planned Community) and vacant,
unimproved land; and the property to the west is designated Flood
Control Low-Medium Residential (4-8 d~elllng units per acre) and
Medium Residential (8-14 dwelling units per acre) on the Land Use
Map of the General Plan and is presently vacant, unimproved land.
3. The City Council hereby finds and certifies that the application
has been reviewed and considered in compl iance with the Ca1 ifornla
Environmental Quality Act of 1970 and, further, this City Council
hereby issues a Negative Declaration.
4. Based upon the findings and conclusions set forth in paragraphs 1,
2 and 3 above, this hereby resolves as follows:
(a) That pursuant to Section 65300 to 65362 of the California
Government Code, that the City Council of the City of Rancho
Cucamonga hereby adopts and approves on the 21st day of October,
1987, General Plan Amendment No. 87-O4C.
PASSED, APPROVED, and ADOPTED this 21st day of October, 1987.
