A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RANCHO
CUCAMONGA, CALIFORNIA, AUTHORIZING AMENDMENT TO THE WEST
END COMMUNICATION AUTHORITY AGREEMENT TO PERMIT MEMBER-
SHIP TO THE CHINO RURAL FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga is pursuing
proceedings, together with any three (3), or more, of the following public
agencies, namely: The Cities of Chino, Montclair, Ontario, Upland, Rancho
Cucamonga, or the Rancho Cucamonga Fire Protection District, to amend the
existing West End Communications Authority Agreement which provides for the
acquisition, construction, and operation of certain communications facilities
and improvements in connection therewith under the West End Communications
Authority, a Joint Powers Agency; and
WHEREAS, the Chino Rural Fire Protection District has requested and
has been authorized membership by the Board of Supervisors of San Bernardino
County; and
WHEREAS, the membership to the West End Communications Authority has
been recommended by Resolution of the designated Agency Representatives who
sit as the Board of Directors for the West End Communications Authority.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Rancho Cucamonga does
hereby resolve, order and determine, as follows:
SECTION 1: Approval of Amendment to the West End Communications
Authoritj/ A~reement. The officers and staff of the West End Communications
Authority are authorized to proceed with incorporation of the Agreement
between the West End Communications Authority and the Chino Rural Fire
Protection District, dated September 10, 1990, as an Amendment to the original
West End Communications Authority Agreement, dated March 20, 1990, as adopted
by this body. The City Council hereby approves and authorizes the City
Manager to execute such action in the form and manner as deemed advisable by
the Legal Counsel for the West End Communications Authority.
SECTION 2: Approval of Membership. In accordance with Section 8.09,
Membership, of the Joint Powers Agreement, the City Council hereby accepts the
membership and designated representation of the Chino Rural Fire Protection
District to the Board of Directors of the Authority.
SECTION 3: Official Action. The City Manager is hereby authorized
and directed to take all actions and to do all things necessary or desirable
hereunder with respect to amendment of the Agreement and addition of member-
ship to the Authority, including the execution of such documents, certifi-
cates, or instruments deemed necessary to facilitate this action and not
inconsistent with the purposes of this Resolution or with the intent of the
Authority By-Laws.
SECTION 4: Effective Date. This Resolution shall take effect
immediately upon its passage and adoption.
